Over the years we have had a few good nights in Dreamboys and my daughter made some good friends there.
But over the last 2 years the hassle and treatment when you walk by is terrible, particularly the things they say and now we would not give them the time of day. As long as you are spending money they are your best friend but if they are very nasty.

When I was being hassled this year, the guy on the front was telling us about how clean their kitchen is and that some restaurants have really dirty kitchens; then I remembered your previous post about the back yard!

It has been modernised since we were at the Private hotel so maybe they are better now.
I still dont like their hassling.

Yahya & Mehmet are now at Friends near the ATM machines - I assume Adem & Justin are at Dreamboys, this thread is very disturbing to me ;( I went to Dreamboys regular for 5 years (not been Icmeler since 2008) and was always treated like a King there. I never had one complaint about the place in 5 years - I am going back to Icmeler on 29th June and intend visiting both restaurants and so will give a report on my return.

But you won't get hassle as you are always in there anyway.

Different people have different perceptions of hassle but now I have heard from fellow forum members about the abuse they receive for not going in; I personally will never set foot in there gain, however saying that if I'm with wife I wouldn't go in there at night due to the overuse of the strobe light but maybe we would have stopped for a daytime drink but no more.

We went to Dolce Vita, next door to Dreamboys, several times, and every time we passed, we got hassled. Once they realised we were going to the bar next door, they became quite abusive. I got fed up one night and pointed out to the main hassler in no uncertain terms that his attitude had ruined any chances he ever had that would would go in his bar, and if he carried on, we would report him. He didn't bother us again after that, but we heard him making snide remarks about us whenever we walked past. I undertand the bar owners are desperate for customers, but I wouldn't set foot in any bar where the staff are rude and confrontational when you say "No thank you."

I agree with what you say and as we became regular users of dreamboys we did not get hassle BUT the first year we went to Icmeler we only went in there once but had to walk past everyday for 2 weeks to get to where we were going and didn't get hassle then.

Also as regular users we have not witnessed any of this hassle that you talk about and have become friends with many of the staff.

Just to point out if you were working the hours they do for the pittance they get paid I'm sure if people told you to F**K off on a regular basis you'd soon get annoyed and irate too.

Just remember you are guests in their country and a little bit of civility and good manners never hurt anyone!

I think the swearing was the other way around, I and I have heard others politely say no thank you and have had abuse in return. I have been in a couple of times and its not my kind of place, if your not a regular you don't get great service and the food isn't the best. I have also been in with a couple of turkish friends and even they said the service was bad and left to go to the Majestic for some entertainment.

We tried the polite "No thank you" the first few times and it didn't work, but I wouldn't lower myself to resorting to swearing, although I can see why some people do. As for witnessing them hassle other people, we saw a lot from the bar next door. Sorry, but friends or not, they DO hassle people, and in a very intimidating manner. You're spending money in there, so of course they're you're best friends.

I must say that after being there this year, and staying at the Eda just off the top of the canal, we had to walk past there quite a lot, to go to the beach or just in general. I never once found the staff abusive, or too much. Yes, they asked us to go in a few times, but were always polite and good natured. I didn't go in this year, but even still got waves and hello's from inside and out when we went past. They even had a quick kick about with my son with his football! He's 19 and wont take rubbish from anyone - but didn't get it either!
