what clothing to wear on the plane outward?

Postby JednJanet » 18 Jun 2011 08:44

last year we landed at Dalaman and it was roasting n i was stuck in jeans, tshirt, etc until we arrived at Hotel.

So i was thinking, 3 quarters, flipflops, etc. BUT janet sais what about the air con on the plane?

So i dont know what to do?? Arrive and be hot or suffer a maybe slightly cooler flight in better clothing. But 4 hrs of cool air con can get cold?

Any suggestions?

If it is chilli when leaving here I always wear little pumps which are then not to hot when you get there and usually have flipflops in flight bag to change into, or I put a pair of socks in my flight bag to put on if feet get chilli on plane if in flipflops. Also you could wear a light weight cardi/jumper which can be removed when you get there. I usually wear a t shirt with sleves with a vest top or strap top underneath so that I can remove tshirt before being greeted by the heat. Have found 3/4 lengths to be fine.
Hope this helps but what every you wear remember what is waiting at the end....Icmeler :D :D

Last year when we landed it was really cold. Usually when we get off the plane we start stripping, last year we were all putting jackets and jumpers on. Going to be positive when we go this year and go with the thought that it will be hot...fingers crossed! We have never known Turkey as cold as it was then in all the years we have been going there, but there again, everywhere seems to be having strange weather :(

I feel the cold so I always were a full shoe or trainers with a pair of socks as my feet are the first to feel it. I then wear light cotton trousers, t-shirt and a cardigan. I can take the carigan off its its warm when we land and there is air conditioning in the taxi and as soon as we get there we change and are out around the pool pretty sharpish. I think layers is the best option becuase you can always take something off. Di. :)

agree - layers are def the way to go...vest top/tshirt, cardi, big pashmina. i usually wear flip flops but take socks for the flight. depends what time of day you're flying i guess.

something comfy like leggings and a baggy t-shirt
also depends what time your flight arrives as it wont be too hot if its in the middle of the night
i arrived in dalaman on thursday night and i actually saw a family change into their shorts in the middle of the area outside arrivals
was weird

When travelling and there is a possibility of it being a bit cooler I wear a pair of long trousers which are ideal as they have zips just above the knee and I can turn them into shorts in less than a minute, then its just a case of rolling up the lower legs and popping them into my bag, on the way home I do the opposite.

When I go in August I just wear baggy shorts.

as most ladies[and some gentlemen] travel in what makes them look good and not what is practical,i have come up with some suggestions
.the look good outfit.
anything short, anything fitted, anything white,or anything light, high heels designer flip flops, sunglasses perched on tor of your head.
the practical outfit,
overalls and safety boots.if this is too chic, try jeans and a t shirt preferably navy blue and Teflon coated, an adult bib for dinner time, trainers and socks and a fleece.[my other half hates stains and is sure i get them just to irritate her] if all else fails get your traveling companion to give you their fleece that's what she does.
