"Little Train"

Postby Little Miss Magic » 16 Jun 2011 20:40

I have read in my little travel book that there is a "little train" that runs around Icmeler.
Is this still the case, or is my book a bit outdated?!

Thanks

I remember the train from years ago, it used to run along the front and up through the village I think. I havent seen it for years though, maybe someone else can help out.

Years ago following an accident it stopped performing a type of jump on jump off bus service, it did do village tours for a short while but then disappeared completely.

Yes, the train stopped a few years back now. One of the attendants was actually killed whilst jumping from carriage to carriage to collect fares. Such a shame. We used to love going on the train every year. You would see something new every time you went on it.

I think the Mayor should look at bringing something similar back to Icmeler, and making it that bit safer a train, as I'm sure it would bring in some revenue to the village.

It does sound like a good idea, my travel book said it was a good way to get your bearings in Icmeler, which would have been very handy.

Think i will get a newer book!

Thanks for all your responses. LMM
