Soft drinks are comparitevley expensive, typically 2.5 lira for a small cola, about £1. and 4/5 lira for a large cola. Beer about 4 lira

if you are staying in an apartment why not simply put some cola from the supermarket in your fridge as bottles of cola are about 2.5 lira for a 2 litre bottle

Set meals can be had for about 20 lira and many places kids will eat free. There are also the local "pide " places which are great value

The exchange rate in the resort seems to be around 2.5 lira to £1

we stayed in the selen 2 last year and walked past the blue fox most days. never went in because they never stopped hasseling us, we even started crossing the road to avoid them! shame because with being so close we might of gone in if they'd not hasseled us as much. x

We spoke to them about the hassling and they told us that they didn't consider what they did as hassling. We told them that if they continued we wouldn't go there but if they stopped, we would. The next few times we passed they nodded and smiled so eventually we went in, the meal was excellent so we wished that we'd gone there earlier in the holiday. If they hadn't hassled us,we would have and they lost out especially as we were a large group. We'll definitely be back there this year, provided that they don't hassle us!

maybe we will give it a go this year then.... dnt like to miss out on nice food  x

hmmmm i don't know where i'm going wrong but I seem to spending more than the rest of you!

Last year our bills were coming to about 130 lira for two. We only ever had one course (unless at the Tandori Sizzler, when we'd choose a set menu. It's probably something to do with adding a bottle of wine and a cocktail or two on to the order :) Normally eat at the following places Friends, Tandori S, Dreamboys, Champagne, Mandalin, Romance. Friends & Romance being my favourite places. We also had a few brunches at Cupids last year and that was nice!

Me & my friend spent £900 EACH in two weeks last year (only eating in two nights) but then that included lots of drinks in bar street, Pleasure & Eastenders.

The wine will certainly bump up your bills, but that does seem a lot - we weren't even spending that much for four of us!

Perhaps I need to cut down on the amount of cocktails & wine I tuck away over the course of the holiday this year then! :?

Im with you Sophia, last year I spent about £450 in a week, this just being spent on evening meals and drinks, no trips and no breakfast or lunch  I think I go wrong somewhere  going for 2 weeks this year so need to take at least £800, but the exchange rate is alot better this year so fingers crossed I wont spend too much, but if I do I dont mind as long as I have a great time 8)

Thanks for the prices update - doesn't seem to much different to last year but better exchange rate this year. Set meals still seem real value for money. I am off in 5 weeks so really helped with working out spending money....but sure will still spend more than I think I will as usually the cocktails get the better or me.

Just back, spent over 500 pounds in one week and nothing to show for it but a handbag for eight quid. Remains cheap to eat out. Felt that soft drinks are expensive and the vodka is only cheap vodka imported from Syria but still being charged about 8 lira and in some places 8.5 lira for vodka and coke. Taxis are very expensive and admittedly i used taxis a lot for coming home from marmaris most nights, about 18 pounds. dolmus has also gone up to 2.5 lira which is now £1. I can remember paying abpout 40 pence a few years ago!! However daughter did find a good place to get real hair extensions at 120 pounds and hairdressers back home have commented on a good job! Having said all this I think it would be much cheaper living there than uk - my water bill was only 3 lira this month and my council tax is nothing compared to uk prices!
