1st time visitor to Icmeler

Postby baronboys » 02 Jun 2011 20:41

Hi, First time visiting Icmeler in August. Have been past three years to Calis Beach and loved it there......although heard everytime that it was like Icmeler. Staying in Old village at Hidden Valley, any recommendations for restaurants/pubs close by to apartments and any reviews on Hidden Valley.
Cheers :D

There are lots of nice places to eat in the Old Village - I would recommend just having a wander around and seeing what takes your fancy. We've never had a bad meal yet in Icmeler - you are honestly spoiled for choice when it comes to eating out. Cafe Rose is highly recommended for authentic Turkish food.

Welcome to the forum.

As Blondie says loads of local restaurants in the village.

Can I ask who's going, are you a couple, family, group of friends, what do you like doing, maybe we can point you in the right direction.

We are a couple bringing our two sons and their two friends (18,17,16,15 - help!!!!! )

Hope there is plenty to keep them busy and will definately be paying Cafe Rose a visit as read lots of good reports about it but didn't realise it was in our neck of the woods.

For the boys I have to recommend the jeep safari, but be prepared to get wet and dirty, its a fantastic day out and they will have a blast.

There is also quad biking and go carting not far from Icmeler.

There are the normal boat trips which can be either lazy day or you can get the full party atmosphere boat.

Two great water parks in Marmaris which can be a great day out.

I can't think where the Hidden Valley apartments are but it says on the website 1200 metres from the beach so I imagine you will be 10 minutes walk for lots of restaurants, 15-20 minutes walk to the centre.

The boys are old enough to do a few things on their own together so you may get a quiet break every now and then.

Have a great holiday and please let us know what you thought on your return.

Must add

You have too see the Stella show at the Harmony bar, the lads will love it. If you just go for a drink it's 15 Lira each with your first drink free but if you eat a meal (not a snack) then there is no charge. Book a table to get a decent seat. Its a fantastic night out,

Welcome to our fantastic forum. I'm sure you will be smitten just like the rest of us.

My recommendations for eating out in the Old village is Sidik's family restaurant and Cafe Rose.

We will be up in the Old village 27th July for three and a half weeks.

Thanks for that, glad to hear that we have chosen well with our accommodation. Am I right in saying that you own the tandoori sizzler? Have read lots of good reports and is it far from Hidden Valley?
Thanks for the welcome

Thanks for all you replies they are most helpful.

Will give Stella Show a go and will look out for ZaZA !!!!!!

Boys will definately do Jeep Safari, Quad Biking and might try the waterparks. Which one is best for their age groups?

We normally hire a boat for the day for ourselves (can't be bothered with the jammed packed ones) Any recommendations.......
