If towels were left on sunbeds for more than 30 minutes anatended.
The lady from reception would go round and gather all these towels up and leave them at reception.

This I thought a good idea.

I also think that is a good idea Gene, there is nothing worse than people putting towels out and not using the beds, this always happened in our hotel in Alanya last year, i was lucky enough to get a bed everyday as i was down early enough but lots of people didn't and had to sit on chairs in the shade.

I ALWAYS go to the beach first day and cram money into Ibrahims hand for the privaledge of being right on the waters edge, 5 beds, 2 brolly, 2 weeks. we are down the beach 8am and thats what we do. At the end of the day, if you want a decent spot, get ya arse out of bed and down the beach...first come first served...

I expect these ae the same people who complain there are no seats on the dolmus and walk into a popular restaurant at 9pm and whine all the best tables are gone.

the early bird catches the worm....

I would love to have the courage to do this but I'm a bit of a coward and don't want confrontation. It is really not fair to put towels on sunbeds to reserve them as the beds are there for everyone. My husband keeps threatening to put the towels into the pool but I won't let him! The only ones who can stop this is the staff of the hotels or apartments. :)

No need for confrontation, just deny that the towels were there!

Got to say that I agree with you Erik. I do the same thing as soon as I arrive.

Should be adopted by other hotels. Maybe after 1 hour, allowing folks to go for lunch. Never had a problem at the beach, but that maybe because we are early risers. We also find if you go down to the beach at lunch time, families with babies are making their way back to their hotels, avoiding the mid-day sun and leaving vacant beds.

Don't think that 30 minutes is long enough. Does that mean if you pop over to the bar and sit down for a snack your towels were gone when you returned? They removed towels from unattended sunbeds once while we were at the Babadan apartments. Everyone received a notice that they were going to remove the towels, problem was they did it for one day and then stopped. The reserving of beds is always annoying on a wednesday where there are no sunbeds left but everyone is at the market :(
