web cam

Postby armstrong » 11 May 2011 22:22

Hi all.
I'm just looking at the web cam and dreaming , like we do , and then I thought wouldn't it be fantastic if we had a live stream web cam , like the one time's square New York have , so we could see Icmeler at her best . I'm sure JT posted something on the subject of the web cam awhile back about updating it .In the the meanwhile Ill keep watching and dreaming until I'm there .

Happy Hols everyone ,

We did have a live one at one time but I think it was very expensive to maintain and that was the reason it went. I,for one, am very grateful for the stills, long may they remain. Thankyou ICR staff

Yes it is very expensive to maintain but new one is imminent, just waiting now for the new cam and a new pc to run it so maybe in the next few days it will be live

Above is a link to a topic from 2005 were Colette and others were involved in the First "Web Cam Wave".

This became a regular thing on a Saturday at 1pm Turkish Time 11pm English time, the cam then was streamed thus being more exciteing with the moveing pictures.

Of course you can wave to the cam anytime while the locals roll about laughing at the silly English Tourists waveing to the sky.

Yes, because we very sensible Scottish tourists would never dream of doing such a thing...

I guess there is a problem with the webcam as all I am getting is the multi-coloured stripey screen that tells me it is "connecting", but clearly is not. I am following all my usual procedures so don't think I am doing anything wrong. Once the webcam is back on could someone just tilt it up slightly to reveal a little more of that (usually) brilliant, blue sky, and the line of those glorious hills. Logging on to that scene on a dank and dismal UK day really lifts the spirits. Thanks.
