Is the Turkish bath a must for a good tan?

27 Apr 2011 13:13

Have seen several people say about the Turkish bath being a must in the first day or two for a good tan.
Is that the case? Above all else I would like to take a good tan home along with the amazing memories no doubt.

I don't know about it being a must for a good tan, as being typically Scottish, I don't really tan that well anyway, but I would say a Turkish bath is a "must" experience at least once! If you are going to have one though, it is best to do it in the first day or two of your holiday so you've got the rest of the time to work on your tan!

I have been told that it is not a must for a good tan but IT IS a must for a long lasting good tan with little peeling, this is due to the fact that all the dead skin has been removed which normally drys in the sun and peels off within a week or so without the bath.

I agree with blondie it is a must even if you only do it the once, i can honestly say though that it did not give me a better tan

I have sometimes had a turkish bath on the first day or two of my holiday and I have on some of my visits not bothered at all and I have still got the same tan and it has lasted as long. I do agree with the others that you should have one though.

Exfoliating will rid your body of "dead skin cells" Which by the way do not tan. Keeping the dead skin off will give your new skin a better tan
so if you do this already cant see there being much of a diffrence, I like the turkish bath as it helps get the kinks out of my body after the flight

Well i have a slipped disc, so maybe it will help ease that somewhat, so will definitely be booking that in the first day or two.
