Early or Late?

Postby pops » 25 Apr 2011 20:49

For those of you who are only able to get to Icmeler once a year, what is your preference?

I for one get a little jealous when i read peoples posts saying "only 6 weeks to go" or "I'll be there in 12 days" but then i sit and think a while. When most people are all holiday'd out, I'll still be looking forward to mine, September will come around soon enough. :D

So what do you all prefer? (assuming your not governed by school holidays) Icmeler early, Icmeler mid season, or Icmeler late. 8)

May or June and then back again in September or October is ideal for me. Have managed some years to go in July also but not every year.

My partner is a Teacher, so we can only go in August.
But we can't wait, and it's both of ours first visit to Turkey, and our first holiday together, so it will be doubly special :

If having to make the choice of going to Icmeler only once a year I would pick from the last 2 weeks in September into October.

We normally go late May or early June and again in late Sept early Oct.
Went in August one year but found it too hot for us.
Also been the last two weeks in October and had lovely weather although it got a bit cooler in the evenings.

We've always gone in June and October, but I must admit I quite fancy trying to fit in a week in September this year.

we always went a golfing weekend in may (4 couples)wives would go shopping,(last 3 years to inverness). i think me & the wife spent in excess of £450 for 3 nights b&b & all our meals ,drinks etc. i played golf wearing
a heavy sweater & a hat ,it was that cold.
this year we have come to our senses and are having 1 week in may & 2 weeks in september, the week in may is`nt costing much more than our 3 days in inverness.
7 days of sunshine & relaxation as opposed to wind ,cold & crap golf.
roll on

June is very pretty when all the trees are in blossom. Days are warm but I find the nights can still be a bit chilly (OK I am a wimp). Don't need the AC very often. The sea is also cold (OK super wimp).

In September the blossom has all but gone so areas like the main street and canal are not as pretty. Days are very hot and nights hot - AC is a must. The sea has warmed up nicely. Also, over the years we have sometimes had heavy rain in September.

This year we are only going once and have chosen September so I guess that's our preference.

As i said in the origional post, this time of year is hard. The new season kicking off and many tales on here of people soon to be jetting off to our favourite destination. Jealousy rules.....BIG TIME.
But come early September i'm sure i'll feel a little different. Pre-holiday purchases made, tickets in hand and suitcases at the ready. Just gotta be patient.

Whenever you're going........ENJOY people. :D

Went in October last year and the weather was nice, mid 20s, although it did rain for a couple of days it didn't spoil the holiday. I went to Gumbet a couple of years ago at the end of July and it was too hot, in the 40s, I couldn't cope at all and there was no air-con in the apartment. That put me off going to Turkey for a couple of years.
