MAJESTIC APARTMENTS

Postby Marilyn » 05 Apr 2011 20:46

I have booked to stay in Majestic Apartments in May. I know it is in the old town but can anyone tell me how far from the beach it actually is? (walking distance). I have tried to google it but I am not able to find the distance. I believe the village bakery is near by. Also what else is near to the hotel, if anything? Thanks a lot :D..

We stayed in the Blue Star around the corner from here in June. It is quite far from the beach around 15 min walk depending on how fast you walk i suppose. I know Tommy's restaurant is 2 secs from it - we didn't go in as we always went down to the centre but passed it a few times when going to the mini supermarket next door, looks like an alright place for sports and always had a Sunday night dinner advertised. We just followed the canal right down to the centre most of the time which brought us to what used to be Elvis bar to give you a rough idea. Nothing much around here to be honest so we booked closer when we went in October and also again for June :D Went into the Majestic for a drink one night and seemed to look nice, good sized pool and staff seemed really friendly. Can't tell you about the bakery because we didn't see one  only other thing i can think to tell you is Captain Sinbad's which is about 10 mins down :)

Thank you both for that - unfortunately I cannot open the link. I could see by the Majestic Restaurant site that the hotel was quite a distance but didnt know exactly how far it would take to walk, but not that it matters as nothing else to do on holidays. Will just have to stop and have a few cold drinks on the way lol

Between 15 to 20 mins walk down to the beach passing lots of bars and supermarkets must admit the walk back does seem a little longer back, but you do get to see village and their are plenty of stop offs on the way, but you can get a dolmus from outside Tommys there and back which run often all day and well into the night, Tommys is a great place to start your day with cheap good cooked breakfast and great entertainment at night, exp:- Fri/Sun night Quiz and Karaoke and Sun a general Knowledge quiz with a twist all good fun and a great way to make friends and the meals are very good. from here a dolmus will take you into Icmeler every night or Taxis wait just across the road. Also supermarket next door to Tommys with good rate of exchange and its open 24 hrs!! with all English papers and both places are very friendly.

there are a few restaurants including love star, ozzys, cubana just a 5 mins walk away from the apartments
its not that far but it might seem like it in the heat of the day as everyone needs to slow their walkinhg speed down

Just back from the Majestic Apartments and I cannot praise it enough. The rooms are basic but all that is needed for self catering, they were clean and I feel that is the most important thing. The staff Jimmy etc were excellent and could not do enough for us. We were I think the first guests of the season so it was fairly quiet but personally that suited us. Our room was in the second block and we had 2 balconies, one in the sun and one in the shade. If you needed anything you only had to ask and it was done immediately. The hotel is situated in the old town which was nice you could go into the town and about 20 minute stroll and you were back in the hotel, I personally think it is in the best place of Icmeler. This is the first time I have slept every night on holiday with no noise, I actualy came back relaxed! I think with one or two little additions e.g. a toaster or small microwave this hotel could be rated higher than a 2+ star. If it was based on a welcome then it should be a 10* !!! Thank you everyone
