Vela Hotel

Postby ConsettSafc » 13 Apr 2011 21:25

Quick question, anyone heard of this hotel, apparently close to the beach and fully renovated for this year, all inclusive, never heard of it and it doesnt appear on any of the usual guides, was it called something else previously, Thanks

There is a pic of this hotel in photo gallery under "The square today" thread. Has been completely refurbished and is nearly finished. Was used by Goldtrail last year, until they went bust and was called Litera Relax.

Over the years it has had a few names.

Litera, Sarba, Grand Sarba, Saral and Grand Saral

Looks good now from outside compared to what it was and furniture looked ok that was going in there the other day

good luck to the new people hope they can make it a successful season
it has had a lot of changes over the years as John said and i hope that with the ideal location it is in that it can make a good success this season and not fall down due to unexpected holiday companies going into administration

Hi
I am booked to stay at The Vela this Friday for one week. I am a little concerned as I had not realised when I booked that it used to have a pretty awful reputation under it's previous name/names. Have any of you lovely people stayed at The Vela this season? Is it now under new management? I have had a look on Trip advisor, but at the moment there does not seem to be any reviews. It was a last minute booking, so didn't have chance to research properly. The photo's of the refurbishment do look nice, so hopefully things have improved!

no Ive not stayed , but did pass it , theres a ton of money been been spent and it looks lovely, i would have a problem giving it a try now its been done up, the hotel is in a great location, it looked horrible before, it looks very grand now
my mates stayed there when it was Sarla and they said basic but clean, from what I saw on the outside, new windows doors baclonys, new lobby, everything looked brand spanking new, and it hasnt just been a new paint job this hotel has had a total rehaul it was so badly needing

just back from Icmeler last week and have to agree with Fee FEE that it looks like a good quality hotel. has been comppletetly refurbished and from the outside look s really great. Pool area looked to be very nice as well although the hotel did look very quiet. The quality of the furniture looked to be very good and an outdoor bar area was being prepared as we were leaving, which should be up and running by now. Its a great location at the square and a 5 minute walk to the beach.

Dont forget to do a review when you come back which will help others
