Trips that are easy on the legs.

Postby cheriton » 13 Apr 2011 20:10

Hi all, we are taking my mum & dad with us to Icmeler again this year and want to do a few trips. The only problem is my dear old mums knees are feeling their age now and protest when they are taken for to long a walk. Can any one recommend some good trips that are easy on the legs. ie not to much walking or climbing. They did the Efes and Pamukkale trips last time so we're looking for some thing other than those.

What about the lazy day boat trip. have they done that? You can just sit on the boat, or go for a swim, or they usually make one or two stops when they can have a wee stroll around if they like.

Gypsy Beach trip.

Sit under a cabana all day long sipping alcohol and eating freshly caught fish looking out to sea

We cannot wait to get back to Icmeler this year, unfortunately we have to wait until the 1st of August to fly out....But, we are so going to Gypsy Beach, the pictures and the feedback from all who have been just make us want to be there sooner.... :D :D :D

I really wouldnt recommend the Lazy day boat trip in the height of summer if you are not able to swim on the stops as it is stifling, a friend of mine who couldnt swim did it and she said never again, it was really hot and others were able to swim in the sea to cool off and she was stuck on the boat.

I've done the boat trip a couple of times and not gone in the water - if you sit downstairs you can be in the shade and it's fine.

I did a trip to Akyaka (sp?) last year and that was lovely - nice walk along the beach, lots of cafes to sit in, beautiful views and lots of little market stalls selling crafts.

Also - take the dolmus or water taxi to Turunc for the day. Not a day trip as such but lovely, quiet, places to eat and beautiful views.
