Marti la Perla

Postby SteveO64 » 25 Mar 2011 21:16

Hi all, new to the Forum and wondered if anyone had any feedback on the Marti la Perla? Me and the GLW are heading there in the first week of May and looking forward to it tremendously...

Also, got any suggestions for day trips/nights out?

Get in touch with ICR on the main page for trips, great value to be honest.. as for nights out it depends on what you want, do you want loud or relaxing, just be aware that you will be eating amazing to die for food in the vast majority of places. :D

Marti LP is my baby – have been there 4 times and we’re off again in june for 2 weeks. It’s a really lovely hotel in a fab location, the staff are ever so friendly and we have made some wonderful friends there. The food can get a bit boring but then that’s turkey for you – we always find something to eat and they are very generous with the drinks as well. Entertainment in the evening I cant comment on as we are normally out in a bar somewhere! Perfect location, right on the beach – sunbeds there can be a battle in the morning but around the pool you never have any probs. Feel free to take a look at the albums on http://picasaweb.google.com/becki.wainwright and let me know if you have any specific questions I can answer x

thanks for sharing your pics... It looks great..

What is your take on the food? It does seem like people going there expect British food all the time where Mad and I are quite adventurous and enjoy eating local grub..

We're staying All Inclusive but I fully expect to try a few of the local restaurants too..

Maybe a boat trip too..

Welcome your recommendations..

Oh god where to start LOL

The food has varied from year to year to be honest – last year was a real mix of fish, calamari, kebabs, lasagne, chicken, pork – you name it but there is always a chicken dish you can guarantee that LOL the puddings are lovely and loads of them!!! Brekkie again is a real mix of cold, cooked breakfasts, omelettes, cereal. If you like sitting outside to eat (which we do as I smoke!) there are limited tables and get snapped up quickly so we always have drinks in the bar beforehand and then go to dinner about 8:30pm when there is always a table outside.

We haven’t eaten out too many times but can highly recommend the Venice over the bridge – the food is beautiful there 

Try to avoid the rooms on the top floor – they are considerably smaller and have sloping, chalet style wooden ceilings – we always write a letter to the tour operator beforehand to insist we don’t get one of these….again perhaps we are just overly fussy LOL

Boat trips are fab – you have a choice of all inclusive ones which can be a bit like sardine cans or the VIP ones which have a max of 30 on the boat and a smaller boat too and get closer in to shore so great of youre not a strong swimmer.

Wed market is fab and not to be missed – bargains galore!

When are you going?? We will be there for 2 weeks June 18th YAY!

is this the Marti Hotel Resort? We had a brilliant time there. But we missed being able to wander around and choose a different restaurant to eat in each night. When staying half board do you think they would let you have breakfast and lunch rather than breakfast and evening meal?

That would be perfect as you would get the best of both worlds, 2 meals a day catered for and a choice of all the lovely restaurants every evening.

Maybe admin would know if hotels would accommodate this?

Marti resort is their sister hotel the other side of the canal which is a lot bigger and always seems to be full of children - La Perla is a lot more relaxed. La Perla is All incl only and Marti resort is half board but I think does have the AI option

Quite a few places which do half board will allow you to take breakfast and lunch instead of dinner, so it may well be worth checking out if they do this. It would just allow for a bit of flexibility if that's what you're after.

Friends have book here, and have asked if the towels are provided? Last year when they stayed in the Aqua, towel cards were available, so it saved space and weight in the suitcase.

Thanks in advance
