Captain Sinbad (Old Village)

Postby helen2904 » 17 Mar 2011 15:25

Can anybody confirm that Captain Sinbad has re-located, and where exactly have they moved to?

Big fan of this restaurant.

Thanks for any info.

Sinbads is still there and I believe it is a member of staff that is leaving to set up his own place just behind the wembley bar in the village

Thanks JT. Any idea what the new restaurant will be called, and who exactly is taking over this new one?

Hi all , could not wait to find out what Sidik is up to so just spoke to him and here is the news . He has confirmed that he will be leaving captain sinbads restaurant and will be opening his new place which will be called " Sidiks Family Restaurant " which is near or behind The Wembley Bar . He said that the new place is newer , larger and cleaner than sinbads . He has a five year lease on the new place and is really looking forward to the new venture , he hopes to be up and running in a couple of weeks and said to call him when we arrive and he will pick us up from hotel and show us around it . Heres wishing him and his family all the best for the future , will be there in june to try the best steaks in Icmeler . So thats "Sidiks Family Restaurant " cant wait to visit .

Thanks for the info Dave, that's fantastic news for us. This has always been our watering hole and I totally agree with you that Sidik's steaks are the best we have ever tasted in all our 17 years in Icmeler. Menap told us last year that he would not be there this year, but who knows they quite often have a change of heart and end up working. They are a lovely family and treat you as their own. Can't wait now. Getting excited just thinking about Icmeler again.

Thanks again Dave

I know where you mean, the last place that opened there didn't last too long in 2007 or 2008, hopefully it won't be the same result for this venture.

I think the last restaurant on this site was called something like Summer Garden, and as Dave says did not last too long. I have posted pic on photo gallery today.

Hi....if you turn left out of Captain Sinbad and pass Miami Bar and Cubana you come to the crossroads (Love Star). Turn left and his new place is about 100 yards on the right. Just before the Efem apartments if you know them.
