Selen 2 Reviews anyone??

Postby kates&george83 » 09 Mar 2011 14:09

Hello All

I havent been to Turkey scince 2008 where we stayed in the Efem Apartments (wasnt the best and a bit of a walk to centre) and we are booked to stay at the Selen 2 for 2 weeks in Sep, Has anyone stayed at the Selen 2..... we walked past it last time we were there and loved the location!

I heard the pool area gets shaded rather early in the day i hope not as im not a big beach bum!

Also does anyone know if Valentions is still there?? its just across from the elvis bar...well was.... im hoping Norrıe the owner and head waıter Angelo are still there! and the food was great!

thanks

Dreamboys was known as the Private bar last season, but pics were posted recently showing that it's now been demolished - no word yet on whether it will be rebuilt for the new season.

Hi there i stayed at the Selen 2 hotel last year. Rooms are basic and clean, fridge in the room and the safe deposit box. The pool did get shady in the afternoon but didnt bother me as i prefer the beach. No hassle from the staff to eat or drink there. Hope this helps.

Hi we have stayed in the Selen 2 twice, both times the stay was good. It is basic, but cleaned regularly to a high standard. Plenty of sun beds available all day. The staff were friendly and unobtrusive. Breakfast was self service with the usual boiled eggs, ham etc but they started clearing it before 10am most mornings, so if you go down later you will be limited. As it is so cheap to eat out it wasnt a problem. We had a few snacks in the hotel and a meal once or twice and all were good. As regulars to Icmeler we have stayed from 5* to self catering and found the hotel to be good for location, cleanliness and safety. Hope this helps jacqui x

Hi, we have stayed in the Selen twice a year for many years. It has changed owners/managers but overall we have found it adequate for our needs. The rooms are not huge but we don't occupy it, except for showering and sleeping. The pool area has lots of beds and now that the slide has been removed, it is much roomier. However, it is shady in the afternoon but we are beach goers so it doesn't bother us. Breakfast is adequate with the usual boiled eggs, tomatoes etc etc. The staff over the years have all been pleasant and helpful and haven't pressed us to use the restaurant but we usually have a dinner once or twice. Last year, the food was particularly good with a whole leg of lamb for two!! :D We find this is a central location and not too far to walk anywhere. Hope these comments help.
