Hi Debs14
We`ve not stayed at the Letoile, but know people that have and enjoyed it. Take a look at this earlier post.

stayed there last august for a week ! never again, been going to icmeler for over ten years now and its the only hotel i,ve stayed in that the air/con was that bad we had to sleep with the balcony doors and the front door open all nite to try and get a breeze through the apartment, when we joined the queue to complain in the morning we were told by the rep there was nothing they could do about it, after reading many other reviews about the hotel it appears its an ongoing problem that Th...s c,,k are aware of ! it seems not all of the hotel is affected only part of it. so lets hope you get the half that's close to the dinning hall.

There is a growing trend in Icmeler and probably all over Turkish resorts that the British guests in certain hotels booked through a certain company are getting the worst rooms.

Also is there still problems with air conditioning ?
Also do the locals hassle young girls and couples ?
Its their first time abroad just the 2 of them and i want them to enjoy themselves and not want concerned by being hassled too much !
Many Thanks

Have not stayed there myself but have walked past many times and had friends staying there, they said it was OK (not brilliant!) but they said that people were getting up at the crack of dawn to put their towels on the sunbeds, there are very many sunbeds but whenever I went to see my friends they were all unoccupied with a towel on no matter what time of day it was. In view of things like this I prefer to stay in a place with fewer rooms. The beach is ok but far from the best and is not for me every day so I do like to be around the pool some days.

We are booked in may in the L'etoille, and this is for the 3rd time, and never had a problem, staff are great , rooms cleaned and clean towels every day, -plenty of choice for food, always find something we enjoyed(which aint always the case in A/I, ok the aircon is centraly controlled and for limited time, but not a problem in may/june of sept/oct. as for hassling, nothing in the hotel and not too bad around the town, certainly not as bad as other resorts.Hope you enjoy your time there.

Really sorry debs but we were there in August too and the heat in our room was unbearable, maybe the better air conditioned rooms go to larger families, there were just the two of us,we were on the second floor facing east and our room was like an oven as soon as the aircon was switched off at 7am.We were dressed and out of the room within a few minutes ,the aircon was then off until 3pm,switched on until 7pm then off again until 10pm.Friends who stayed the year before said that it was not too bad, apparently a new manager was appointed in 2010 and he would not move from those times.Hopefully he may have moved on,the hotel would have been so much better if it had been cooler. We found out too late that you could hire fans, believe from the little supermarket under the hotel,if not buy one at Tansas in Marmaris,it may be cheaper.
It might be worth asking Starchild which month she usually goes ,how many people in her room and see if you can request the room she had. Please feel free to ask any questions,I'll help you if I can.T.

Me and hubby go in early October and have had several rooms. We took friends with us twice and they didn't find any problems at all with the hotel. Last year we met up with a friend from Schotland who is quite fussy, and the only thing that she complained about was the fact that the balcony wall was too high and she had to go on tip toes to see properly over the top (she is a little shorty). We had a room overlooking the pool and the street the first year, 4th floor facing the pool and sea the second year, 505 the 3rd and 4th year and 507 (which all overlook the pool and sea) last year. Never had a problem with any of the rooms. You can always phone or email the hotel and try to request a specific room. As for the sun loungers, believe it or not, it is the English, Scotish and Welsh who grab the loungers and leave their towels on them all day whilst they go out for the day.

Our only problem with the hotel was the air con,it was very hot in August and there was no escape from the heat.We would use the hotel again if we wanted to go earlier or later in the year when it was a little cooler. We loved the location and spent a lot of our time on the beach. We're going to a different hotel this year, one that has individually controlled aircon, still in Icmeler as we loved the resort.

Hi Caza, we,ve had rooms facing the pool and also at tha rear facing the Aqua hotel and my wife prefers the later as its quieter and also gets the late aftyernoon sun which is a nice time to sit out on the balcony and relax, we usualy try and get floor 2 as the lifts get very busy at dinnertimes and its easy to just walk down to the restraunt.Rog.
