I have never sent any money but I have heard of Western Union, but I think there are similar charges with these too.

Our bank (LloydsTSB) is £20 for a transaction upto £5000, make sure you don't pay the recipients fees, I leave that to them.

Post Office seem to offer a free service but never used it

dont know how much it costs
but try HSBC as its a turkish bank as well
so it might be cheaper
hope it works out for you
or send it recorded delivery internationally
i sent my boyfriend lots of documents for his visa three times and it wasnt too expensive but secure and didnt take too long
not even a week to send
hope this helps :)

If you have sent the money via MoneyGram then this can't be cashed in Icmeler or Marmaris any longer - for some reason a lot of the Turkish Banks do not do this any longer. If you have sent this via MoneyGram then you will need to ask for a refund from the Post Office. The nearest place to cash MoneyGram is now Izmir!! Best bet is to use Western Union.
