Remember last winters panic attacks........

Postby andytaj » 03 Dec 2010 20:47

Couldn't get to Icmeler this year, but I have virtual holidayed there by following your exploits this summer.

Last winter there seemed to be a bit of a panic going on in some minds about the closures/re-builds/ changes that took place in Icmeler.

Tell me, friends!

Having been back and now the dust has literally settled. How has Icmeler changed in your views?

And.....Do you anticipate more for this winter?

Just interested

Cheers Andy.

Never really noticed much of a diference TBH.

Long Beach in Marmaris is a totally different kettle of fish, been left looking like a building site in quite a few places!

Yes i think the caffe's along the front look a lot nicer & more inviting i.e. Erdams, cooco beach, etc. We used Erdams on a few occasions for a snack at lunch time it was nice to sit & watsh the people on the beach & watch the world go by .
the fountains look nice also . Yes on the whole i think Icmeler is improving & do hope it does not get like Marmaris but stays as our little bit of heaven.

To be honest there were not that many changes and any that there were made the place better. The fountains in the square in particular were a welcome addition and look fabulous.

didnt really notice too much difference either as mentioned i think the addition of the fountains is a plus..i dont think over the past eight years ive been coming theres been too many big changes some bars change names and owners but i guess that happens everywhere..i do know that some of the problems some bars where having with the council have yet to be resolved ..dreamboys/ private have worries there owner told us that they were keeping their fingers crossed that they would still be open next year and not bull dozed again obviously some things have still to be sorted...anyway heres hoping when its time to come back home again all of our friends of eight years are still there.. :D :D keep the faith :D :D

We were ther in May and October, were told by the stallholders by the canal that at the end of the season they were removing all the stalls at the canal and moving them near to where the market is, beacause the turkish people that live in the houses by the canal had been complaining about them, dont know if this is true or not

Hope the stalls on the canal srat there as Mrs smc4761 loves walking about here. Some of the stall holders even let you have a look without puncing on you as soon as you appear

I'm of the same opinion, I like browsing the stalls duirng a walk after the evening meal, I wouldn't bother if I had to walk upto the market area.

I don't really believe anything until it is official as we were told last year that this year the market would be moved and it wasn't. There wasn't many changes at all this year and looking back over the years there are always a few changes with the bars etc.
