phantom cat feeder ?

Postby madmackem » 27 Sep 2010 17:38

We recenetly returned from heaven and wonder if anyone can answer this question for us WHO IS THE PHANTOM CAT FEEDER :?: :?: It didn't matter where you walked you came across small piles of dried cat food :? , even on the prom from Icmeler to Marmaris there they were every so oftern but we never saw anyone actually putting the food there :? . Who ever is doing it can have a medal from me the OH and our own furry friend Sid. Is it secretly you Collette, are you the secret cat feeder.

Now I would loooooooove to say it was me, but alas it's not.

I did hear they have set up feeding stations for the cats, and last year members saw people going round feeding some.

As long as the cat biscuits thats been put down are not poisoned

Will save me a fortune in cat food this year though

I really hope its a sign of good things to come for the cats and dogs over there though, I know people don't like scaving cats, so if there well fed they wont scav at the restaurants.

Squueeekkkkkk I go on Sunday to see all my little moggies and doggies

There was a woman going round feeding the cats when we were there in June, Colette - we saw her quite a few times in various places. Once or twice she was sitting on the grass outside the former Munamar hotel surrounded by several very grateful kitties! :D

i have never seen as many cats in Icmeler as i did this year. some restaurants were swamped with them. they all seemed to be well fed though - seen many of the staff put food outside for them (prob to try and get them out of the restaurant) and the ones that went around the tables got fed from customer leftovers

Hi Elaine,

The Turkish lady who looks after the dogs is the person who is feeding the cats. I think she is doing this so they stay well fed and then don't bother the people eating. Also she has taken many home as far as i am aware and cares for them there.

What alovely lady she devotes all her time to looking after the animals. It would be great if they could open a cattery and get the cats neutered but i would imagine that would cost a fortune.

we were walking along the front one evening last week on our way to the stella show and there was a man walking a few yards in front of us with a big bag of cat food and leaving little piles for the moggies every few yards. the cats were springing out from everywhere.

It's going to make my holiday the BEST ever this year to see the cats well looked after. We have our sponsor Jane walk as well for the cats and dogs :D

Just hope it can contiue :)

Turunc have a charity shop where people drop off stuff and they sell for a few lira, this helps feed and give vetinary care to the animals, nowwwwww if the mayor could give Icmeler a little shop with free rent , I am sure Icmeler people could do the same :D

Hi sausages I think I know the lady you mean, if it's the same one she lives in the street behind the Varol Hotel, she has about 25 cats and 12 dogs at her house, the are everywhere. God bless her.

We saw the lady around Holiday Inn feeding the cats with the dried food every morning and evening. During our stay in Icmeler recently, there were several stalls set up in the Tourist Info square selling craft items as well as secondhand things and one fo the stalls was a charity for stray casts. I thoght this was a nice touch and hoped the money raised would provide food for the strays. :D
