Going back to
icmeler next friday. 2nd time this year

We always go out every night for dinner but we were going to change it this time and make our own dinners. Everyone must know about the two rings that are in every apartment

I want to know what you cook on them or anything we could cook for dinners in the apartment ?

Some evenings we just buy a cooked chicken and have salad with it. But some of our friends cook regularly, they usually have things like,
Packet soups.
Pasta.
Bolognese.
Minced beef and potatoes.
Fry ups
I suppose you could cook anything really except a good old sunday roast
We tend to have quite a few lunches in the apartment, due to my Husband being the fussiest eater alive!

I gain about half a stone on holiday, he loses about half a stone.
I intend to cook more things next week when we go, at least I know he will eat then. Although, the apartments where we go to really spoil him and cook him simple things like minced beef and onions, or just a fish finger sandwich etc.
Hope the thunderstorm passes soon.

I will only cook a light lunch on the two rings, fried eggs to put on toast etc, no meat as we are a veggie's. I will boil eggs for breakfast as I think the eggs there are much nicer than the ones you get here, you really can taste the difference. I really go on holiday to get away from stuff like cooking and love to have my evening meal cooked and served to me in a restaurant, the food is very reasonably priced and beautifully cooked so why cook when you are on holiday?
I think if there is a meal to be cooked in the apartment it should be done by the guy as we do the cooking all year!

its like a mixed omlette
all in the pan and mix it around
tomato, pepper, onion, turkish sausage and egg
and eat it with bread
its nice

and will only take one ring

Menemen is lovely and really easy to make too. It's like a Turkish version of scrambled eggs - good choice for a light lunch.

We found that it was just as cheap to have takeaways as it was to make something yourself. We found Kardelin to be excellent and also bought cooked chickens for 9.90 TL including a 2 litre bottle of coke in Alin's. We always go self catering and keep basics such as eggs, salad stuff, bread etc in the fridge. It's also worth checking if your apartment has a microwave, we were lucky and were able to make baked potatoes. Don't make the same mistake as we did by buying a large tin of tinned tomatoes (to go with our pasta) which turned out to be a large tin of tinned tomato puree! By not having a meal out every night (but still going out for a drink) we spent less this year for three weeks than we normally spend in two.
If you want ideas, the Tansas website on tansas.com.tr is helpful. Click on "insert date" on the bottom of the page.

as dragon said you can spend less at some of the takeaways they are very good value for money
also maybe eating at the turkish places
they are still really nice and very cheap

If you're on the main road where the Titanic, 3/4 Bells & Red Lion are, keep walking, go past Tansas, carry on down the road past a shop selling fruit and veg, stay on the left hand side of the road and it's on the end of that block, on the corner. It's only a short distance from Tansas.

beside the mosque and is on the corner of the main road near where the entrance to the wednesday market is
