I've never found the hassle that bad, to be honest - and I think it's about how you deal with it too. To be honest, it's a fraction of what you get in some countries - at least you don't have timeshare touts hassling the life out of all the time like you get in Spain and the Canary Islands, for instance, or the "looky looky" men pestering you on the beach constantly.

hi all
of to our favorite place next thursday. personally i quiet like the hassle, the first time we went to Turkey we went to Side on the Meditaranean coast, very beutifull area, (but not as nice as Icmeler) the hassle was terrible you couldnt walk past any shop or resteurant without getting pestered, then the next time we went to marmaris, and that was the same, my wife is normally the one they stop so im just standing there like a spare part, sometimes for 15 mins or more, so i told her if she stops again i will carry on to the first bar and stop there for a drink. Well you can imagine what happened, most times i would be towards the end of my first large effes, occasionally about half way through, but this was only because she cant ride a jet ski, on the odd occasion i would be towards the end of my second or starting my third, due to this rule i am now a confirmed alcholholic with a life time memership to alchoholics anonimus,              but i still love icmeler, role on next thursday

The hassle gets less and less each year. Last year it was only the hairdressers and stands for trip/excursions. This year nothing at all and I feel that for the restaurants its gone a little too far and some of them now daren't even have a quick conversation in case it is misinterpreted as hassling. I think its a shame. There's a big difference between banter and hassle.

Just got back and there was hardly any hassle. If anyone did speak to you a polite 'no thank you' was enough.
Didn't see any bars shut down.

I had just come from a hairdressers with my hair looking stunning and I felt a million dollars until walking back my apartment when another hairdresser asked if I wanted my hair done! I don't think he was ready for the barrage of sarcasm I gave him but he will think twice about hassling again lol!
It is annoying though when you are in all your finery and going out in the evening with whoever your holiday companions are to be asked by all the hairdresses you walk past if you want your hair/nails done.

i agree, afer having a shave and haircut i was still hasseled by them for a hot shave, almost got to the point of being as joke where id point to my wife and say no thanks shes had one today!

To be honest i think some hassle is part and package of the holiday you will always get it no matter where you go i have been to places where the hassle is beyond belief and other places where the hassle is more like banter and can be fun but when they come on a bit heavy as Bazza says like the bag man its just not on you just become irritated and lose all interest

Go to the Marage World and you can't sunbathe in peace without a hair dresser or some one from the spa comming around pestering you.(Sometimes every half hour, they take it in turns. Grrrr) I like going to the Marage World and will be returning in Oct but those guys are so silly as they would get more custom if they left you alone. The Spa and Hairdressers are on the way to the resturant so people can see whats on offer and lets be honest girls if we want something done we will get it done in two shakes of a lambs tail. Im counting down till my holls only 20 sleeps left. Bring it on Whoop whoop. Steph xx

Hi Steph,
we stayed at the Mirage last year for the second time and we have never had any hassle from the hairdressers, a bit of myther from the animation and that till they finally realised we just want to sunbathe and relax, we also take our gold and always get it cleaned and they dont try to sell us anything.

We noticed a big difference in the hassle this year. Although it was still there it really was in moderation compared to last year. I agree if done with humour then its good fun. Last year we were all intent on going to the Majestic which was highly recommended but when trying to look at the Menu which the Waiter refused to let us do but insisted on manhandling us into the restaurant. He did himself out of 4 already willing customers (the Restaurant was no.1 on our list) We ended up going to the Florida where we enjoyed a beautiful hassle free meal.

Give 'em hassle back - ie - where's my bargain price, 6 children, 5 grandchildren, 1 huge mortgage to feed and keep going - how can I afford to buy if the price isn't right ??

Asda price, I can't afford to buy in Asda, I'd never go on holidays if I bought there!

Oh, it's great fun to have a go back - then if you want somerthing specific - we've bought Turkish style nets and material (saved a fortune on British prices) rather than leathers etc, they WILL find you the off the main road shop that will get you THE bargain of your hols - works every time! And you've made a friend for life!

They will look out for you every time you go back, a coffee, a soft drink, a beer as you pass, it all makes for a good hol to make friends and give a bit of trade round.

There are bargains, you just have to hassle 'em back to find the shops to give them to you! Great fun !

And you thought it was just a holiday, eh??
