short 2 day gulet or trips to chill on

Postby lizzie.g. » 19 Sep 2010 10:24

Hi i'll be in icmeler from 2-11th October (as well as trying to change shirt at Dalaman Airport) i fancy a short gulet. Does anyone do this for a few days. i've done the week gulets and day trips and i.ve done all the usual stuff and want to chill this time. Are there any trips to relax on. cheers.

Just ask the boat owners at the harbour, if nothing else is booked you may get a good deal.
Its that time of the year that the prices get better as things get quieter.

Have to say I like the sound of this, just a select few on a gullet for a few hours rather than a huge boat trip

Its great Colette, done it the past 2 years with a boat from Marmaris, he only goes into bays with no other boats in and you really do have the place to yourselves (its our holiday treat).

The 1st year whilst staying in Marmaris we fancied going to Turunc for the day but on speaking to the taxi-boat owners they only wanted to go to Icmeler (market day). We retired to a pub and thought that any boat still parked up might just do a cheapo for half a day. 1st boat we spoke to wanted £100 for 3 hours, we walked but the guy at the next boat suddenly shouted £60 for 4 hours. We took the trip that turned into 5 hours and even had him swimming in the sea with us. Last year we went for the full day option (same guy) and did it for £120 for the full day. Brilliant day out but don't even know his name, met his wife and kids but just always call him captain.

Colette, if there are only a few of you and the prices are good, Phill and I could come along for half a day too.

Hi Colette,

Sounds like a plan. Let us know what day you are thinking of going, I'm sure Daz would be up for it. We did something like this a few years ago when we went in a group of 13 (mostly the kids and their mates) and it was a good day out - very relaxing and I remember there was a lovely lunch - the usual BBQ - provided by the crew.

See you soon! I'm getting all excited now to think that this time next week I will be in icmeler! xxx
