Hotel Private

Hi I have just returned this morning after another great holiday in Icmeler,had the stomach and throat virus but that did not stop us,we have been going to the Hotel Private fo 17 years,never had a problem the Hotel Staff are great and the pool and the bar staff in previous years have been wonderful and still are as we are in contact with them,BUT this year we found out when we got there that the pool area and the bar has beentaken over as a francise(Not sure of the spelling) and abeing managed by an obnoxouis,rude and ignorant person called Thomas,he was there last year but just as a bar man.I had to leave my sun bed on the Monday to go to my room,because i was ill and stayed there untill Wednesday,Thomas then made an attack on me verbally threatening me if i leave my bed again he woule remove my towels during this intimidating conversation he claims if it was not for stupid British people there weould be plenty of sun beds,which i quickly pointed out if he did not allow non residents of the Hotel to put the towels on all night and not allow the other bar person Danielle to ask for money to purt the towels on there would not be a problem.For this he said i should not bring my rat face and talk to him putting his hand to my face,the bar and pool area is dirty,and extra drinks and over charging is common place so much so that about thirty regular residents are not going back if he is still there.My husband also spkoe to his about touching a 18 year old female thale was in our group.We have complained to the rep and will be writing a strong letter of complaint as i think this is seroius we do not expect threatening and insulting racist remarks when away.Last note on leaving the Hotel late last night a young lady was in reception crying,Thomas had allowed two dogs into the eating area of the pool bar jumping on chairs and tables,when the young lady complained and said she was going to reception to complain he follewed her and told her dont dare complain. So be aware of this person,the rest of the staff are fantastic...

Unfortunately this attitude is getting more common in Icmeler with the threatening of guests both vocaly and threating customers with physical harm.
I have come accross this 3 or 4 times on this holiday by Hotel, shop keepers and bar owners when not entering their establishments.
If the powers that be dont get a grip I shall be saying goodby to Icmeler.

That's awful, what a jerk he sounds, bet he put the dampeners on your what should have been a fabulous holiday, sorry about that. Is there any way you can get in touch with the Mayor? I am sure he would not want this sort of behaivour and treatment of tourists to Icmeler, if first timers visit this hotel they will not ever return to Icmeler. He is spoiling it for all the genuine people there who cannot do enough for us visitors although what Redrhino says is true and I have also come across a few lately who are very intimidating with an aggressive attitude. Something should be done about it, how would they like to come here and be treated like that?

I'd certainly report as I'm pretty sure Icmeler doesn't want this image. When we wre there last week we past a restraunt and we got nothing but a little bit of hassle and it didn't bother us...unlucky for the man who did it though the old bill was just behind us in a car and 4 of them got out and gave him a right bollocking, he looked frightened to death, so it's obviuous they don't want it, I just wish someone would sort that git out at the private bar.

To be honest the Private bar was fine with us.But the Irish bar how do they get away with it the music is so loud, and does not go off like the other bars.

As a family that have stayed in the Private before and loved it, was saddened to read about your unfortunate encounter with staff. we enjoyed our stay there before but this year only used it when frequenting private hotel bar/restuarant(dreamboys). Our daughter when using the toilet facilties within the hotel was slapped on the bottom by a male member of staff, neither did she know this person or speak to them before hand. Her dad and boyfriend then accompanied her the following time, we should have reported this but chose to just put it down to what we thought was over friendliness. Now I wouldnt be so hesitant. Icmeler is a brilliant place and we have made many friends, the genuine people will always shine through. lets hope others move on.
