Where is the justice in that ? More millions of tax payers money spent on a useless imbecile, who shouldn't be walking this earth.

My opinion lol

I agree

Bring back the death penalty for the murderers - the ones that are proven to be 100% guilty. Why should we tax payers keep them in prisons, to educate them, give them a good life (allbeit behind bars), we need to take a leaf out of other countries books. Dont even get me started on illegal immigration, religion etc ...... will keep it light

I totally agree with you. We have a prison just up the road to us, and unfortunately we know someone who has been given time for murder. She has all the comforts of massage facilities, hairdressers, aromatherapy and lots of other things that the likes of us would have to pay a fortune for if we were lucky enough to be able to afford such things. I am also the same as you about getting started. Why don't we meet up and get a soap box on Hyde Park Corner? I am sure that we could soon put the world to rights

The death penalty is too good for them, bring back national service to sort the scoundrals out, and concentration camps for the murderers

throw away the key Janden, I don't think so - more likely they'll get one cut for him so he can let himself out when he feels like it. So much for British justice eh

TBH, regardless of what he's done since being released and regardless of what led him to do what he did when he was 10, how on earth could anyone ever be considered balanced enough to be released in the first place after the institutionalised childhood he had?!?!? Not to mention living a lie since his release!

Alcatraz or the like and for life seems like the only sensible option in the absence of the death penalty - or a long stint on the front line in Afghanistan or Iraq!

Quarter of a million quid to give this "thing" his new identity, when it gets released. It's a proven and well known fact that "most" peads will go on and re offend.

He was living in Cheshire  We dont want him here!!! or the other sick puppy, his "mate"

Makes my blood boil, this isn't a society we live in, in a society we would have a choice, we get no choice, this is a world owned by these sicko's and it's getting worse.

Don't understand why we rotect him so much, he gave his video plea via camera link up and only the judge was allowed to see his face ??? Other people go to jail and take there chances, who do we bow down to this thing ?

From what they say in the Sunday Mirror, he is very proud of what he has done, and is very comfortable where he is. He is also bragging that he will be out by the time he is 30. They have him on 24 hour watch so that nobody harms the 'poor little darling' (yuck). What I say would say to the prison wardens is, turn a blind eye and let the inmates get to him, but make sure that they make a proper job of it...little scum bag! It makes me so angry, when there have in the past, been OAP's locked up for non payment of Council Tax. Maybe Mr Cameron should step in and do something about this situation...after all, didn't he say that the people of this country should have a say in how this country is run? Let's start of by giving this pervert (and his little friend) the death penalty

Well! I've never notices this thread before... interesting folks and yes, it certainly isnt calming for the blood pressure.

We used to like living here, (apart from the weather) proud to be Scots/Brit but I have to say that for many years now we have gone so downhill that I dont.... our aim is to retire somewhere else.
This country is in an awful mess and our systems/laws etc certainly seem geared to protecting the perpetrator while ignoring the needs of the victims ..... UGH! How did we ever get to this?

Anyone mention the overburdened National Health system?

With David Cameron in charge of the country, there will be more reasons to dislike living England, Scotland or Wales. The latest brilliant idea he has had as I have just heard on the TV, is that when they make the cutbacks on the Police, members of the public can replace them...and he doesn't mean as Special Contables. So watch out everyone,if you are naughty boys and girls, you could be arrested by the 101 year old next door neighbour

Episode 3 of "How to Raise your Blood Pressure".
Interested in your views on todays news about the radical reform of Benefits & Tax Credits.
Are we happy about the number of people who have no intention of getting a job?
Is the system wrong where apparently some who are on minimum wages are only about £20 a week better off than claiming all the benefits available.
Should we make fit people work, perhaps in their community in order to get their Benefits?
Hopefully this weeks subject for discussion will be less heated than the previous two but who knows?

Oh janden, what have you started ?!? yet something else to make us hardworking folks' blood boil

It's soooooo wrong on every count that there are so many scroungers in this country - folk from here and the hoards of EU folk taking advantage of our pathetically generous welfare system! It's little wonder that there's a culture of claiming which is so very rife - not to mention easy for Eastern Block gangs to defraud on a MASSIVE scale!
And it's so ridiculously imbalanced too - handing out aid money abroad, bailing out banks and failing to really help folk who are trying to help themselves by working long hours for little pay
It will be interesting to see what Iain Duncan Smith's ideas for improvements are
I could go on at length but I'll just keep going head down, bum up with my integrity and nil pay rise this year!

oooh Jan and Den

Where to start. Scroungers, hmm shoot them  no seriously, yes there should be something written in stone in that after say 3 months of no work, there are courses available to be sent on, college day courses etc to gain qualifications, then after say 3 more months, half day and full day jobs available in different places.

I believe the Social are quite strict though on making you look for work and proving your intent etc. So they should offer more choices to people who want to work, and as for those who don't , then time to be tough and make them do the above!

My brother was out of work for 6 months , now bearing in mind he had worked non stop for 25 years from when he left school, a 6 month gap wasn't too bad. They treated him like a lepper, spoke to him like he was poo, and told him to take any job he could get and be greatful! Now thats the wrong attitude to be, we need to encourage people to find a job they want, making someone take a job they don't like, will just put them out of work again.

My brother stuck to his guns, and after 6 months found a great job on a 5 * holiday resort, but meant he moved 250 miles down south.

Don't get me started on immigrants and asylum seakers taking our jobs though

Just want to say, I love these debates and am very proud of the way everyone has there say, and no one critisizes them. We all have opinions and no one is right or wrong, so keep up the good debates folks :D

re "immigrants taking our jobs"!?! :? If it's not that it's taking advantage of our welfare system.

I'd rather they "took our jobs" than take our handouts tbh. Let's face it, there are enough of "us" who simply aren't interested in working when it only brings in a pittance more than benefits when folk have got used to living on them for years. Minimum wage jobs just don't seem attractive to the long term unemployed and if "immigrants" take them, then at least they are putting something into society.

Has anyone seen the show on Channel 4 about teh lady who gets the long term unemployed into work - quite an eyeopener and very refreshing - shame we don't have at least one of her in every town!!

Now what I DO have a problem with is "immigrants" undercutting the price our folk [for want of a better phrase] would work for, esp in the building trade - know of one group of Eastern europeans who actually knocked on our friends' door and offered to undercut the price for the extension our friends were having. Thing is though, he's a builder so was doing it himself - needless to say, he sent them packing with a flea in their ear!!

IMHO I think the EU freedom to move/work has an awful lot to answer for - and that comes a close second to our pathetically liberal and easy to manipulate welfare system which so shamefully penalises sections of UK's own society - especially pensioners and the disabled

Blimey, I feel better for getting that off my chest - glad I'm off to Icmeler tomorrow and sincerely hope I don't bump into too many fellow countrymen and women who spend their summer there on the back of disability benefits and social fund loans

Good responses/views from Colette & Fanny
What about the 3000+ other members?
Murderers like Moat & Venables now the country has millions of scroungers & bone idle to put it mildly & only 3% of members have a view :( :( :(
I took early retirement 5 years ago & worked for 35years for the second largest Housing Authority outside of London & I new families who were on the third generation who have never worked but most were in the Pub & bookies most days .The whole system is wrong.
