Another holiday over

Postby lovelyturkey » 08 Aug 2006 08:44

Hi, I have just returned from my 4th time in Icmeler.

Firstly, the resort was much busier than I expected, which was nice to see after reading reports about how quiet it has been this season. Everyone I spoke to had been worried about the fact that it has been quiet so far, blaming bird flu and the world cup, although myself I dont think these are the reason, I personally think that maybe people are being persuaded to try other places.

Secondly the hassle, again I read various reports on here about the hassle being worse and some people actually being put off returning because of this, well I found that the hassle - although despite the signs saying No hassle respect our guests - is still going on, to me it was far less of a "hassle" than previous years. I found that a polite no thanks was enough, and they let you go on your way, no problems at all.

Thirdly, prices - much the same as last year, but loads of bargains to be had, and meals still great value.

Lastly, The Stella Show - went for the first time this year, and after reading good reports, was looking forward to it however I wasnt impressed at all, definately not a family show, and every other word was "F" word, I took my children and I am in no way a prude and dont hide them away from anything, but they too said they felt uncomfortable, I think this should be described more as an "adult" show. Sorry if people dont agree, but this is my opinion.

All in all, a fabulous holiday, always is, guaranteed weather, and guaranteed a warm welcome.

Jane.

Hi Jane

Lovely to hear you had a nice holiday. I too have heard reports about how quiet it is and things like that but its nice to hear its not so bad. Cant comment on the Stella show as I have never actually been and did really fancy going to see it this year when I go in a few weeks,as there is only me and my partner there I cant imagine the f word would bother us too much but I do see what your saying about it.

Any comments on your accomodation? Where did you stay? :D
