Danni, this is exactly the problem the addition of the 180 days wording.
Post what you find out from the Embassy please.
Good Luck

http://www.turkishconsulate.org.uk/en/v ... PageID=3#3At the minute there is no mention of the new "rules" for 180 day visa on this site, and Uk passport are required to buy 90 day visa but perhaps it hasn't been updated yet.

My last post seems to have disappeared so I will write it again:
I rang the consulate in London this morning and could not get through to speak to anyone, it was just automated messages! I went through did the press 1 and press 2 and all the visa information it gave was "you pay £10 for visa at the port of entry and it lasts 90 days" that's all it said!

Think I have had a breakthrough here guys: read carefully
Somebody mentioned earlier about the stickers maybe being meant for a different country as they have run out of normal ones so I did a bit of searching on the consulate website and found a list of countries and the visa requirements. Won't let me post the link as I have not done enough posts!
For the UK it says:
You require tourist visa to enter Turkey. You can obtain a 90 Days multiple entry sticker type visa at the port of entry in Turkey.
I scrolled down the list to find any mention of 180 days for any country and found that for Albania, Kosova, Brazil, Lebanon, Brunei, Libya, Lithuania, Paraguay, Syria and Romania it said this:
You do not require visa (for tourism or business purposes) to enter Turkey for your stay up to 90 Days. However, you cannot overstay 180 days in a year without visa. If your total stay in Turkey is more than 180 days in the year that you are intending to go to Turkey, you will need to apply to this Consulate to obtain a visa. Please click here to make an online appointment for visa applications to Turkey.
AND
You do not require tourist visa to enter to Turkey for your stay up to 90 days within 180 days.
Anyone else now think people are being given the wrong sticker? maybe because they have run out of the correct ones
22 Jun 2010 19:49
hiya Dannii
hope that this is the case and that i have been given the wrong sticker
otherwise its stupid cause i cant even come back in october after being home for over a month
if they do that for british people they are going to lose out on a lot of money as people wont be able to come back twice in the season

Tried everything I can think of to find out more about this but I am still in the dark. I don't see how we will find out until it's too late
Surely someone at
ICR must know something? Nobody in
icmeler seems worried

Got some 100% correct info on this now.
My friend who lives in
Icmeler went to the consulate in
Marmaris this morning to ask about the visa and they have confirmed it IS a misprint on the sticker as they have run out of the usual ones!!
The usual visa rules still apply, multiple entry 90 day visa starting on the date of issue, holder has no right to work.

I am very worried. I have put on my post about my 5 year ban given on 28th June this year for 1 day overstay. The very nice lady and a very nice police officer at the airport said I only had to get my visa from London ( the Turkish Embassy ) then come back and pay the original fine at Dalaman. The Embassy website also reads that way. I have my appointment on the 28th of this month. Does anyone know anything different? Good news I hope.

Hi i am currently living in turkey and went back to england for a 2 week visit and upon my arrival back to turkey i to got the same stamp in my passport and being worried i started searching on the internet and came across this site and seen what you had found out danni so could you plz tell me if that information is defineatly true that is a miss print as the original have ran out, and do you also know if that is just at
dalaman airport or everywhere? thanks a lot would really appreciate any info you could give me and would really a ppreciate a fast reply as i am really worried on this matter thanks a lot.
14 Jul 2010 19:07
I can't say the info is 100% true but that's definitely what the embassy in
marmaris told my friend about 2 weeks ago. And no it's not just dalalman, I know people who have had the new stickers from antalya and bodrum.
On another forum various people have been in contact with the irish consulate in uk, and the british consultes in UK and turkey and they have all said there are no changes. I did try ringing the embassy in london but couldn't actually get through to anyone, it was all just automated messages!
14 Jul 2010 19:09
Also you would think if there were changes as major as this the british consulate website would be one of the first places to be notified and there is definitely nothing about it on their website. It would be a widely advertised thing
14 Jul 2010 19:18
yes i suppose there would be but it still dosent really stop me from worrying as i have to much in turkey and dont want to lose it. But i was thinking about that last night if they had of changed it wouldnt there of been some kind of sign or something and im sure it would definately been on the turkish consulant website anyway they would be crazy to do that as they would lose out on to much and the money would drop cause i think british people would stop comeing here i know i probably would why bother when your restricted on how many times you enter the country its redicolous.

I am going on monday for the rest of the season so I am planning on doing the trip to rhodes. I know someone who's already done the rhods trip this year with no problems and they were given the original sticker on the way back in. Don't know which sticker they got from
dalaman to start with though!
Only way to get round it is to apply for residency. I am just going on what my friend got told that nothing has changed and it's a mistake on the sticker.
