July Meet Ups........

Ok I have just spoken to John, who is currently at an ICR meet up on his own

We are a little disheartened, that after arranging these meets, only about 4 people so far have turned up.

We have discussed cancelling the meet ups altogether but have decided to give them one last push. If your in Icmeler in July, please call in to the following meet up places and say hi anytime after 8pm.

Because it's only fair we share the custom around so next year we will choose new venues again

I see your point but I think people train their brains better to going to the one place.

But there again if the new system of rotation isn't working then maybe as an experiment for one month you should try them again at Vince's and see if the attendences go up?

It has to be a better soloution than cancelling them all together!

We will be there on 8th July.

If this doesn't work we will put them to one place this year and the other place next year.

So it might be Havanna for the rest of this year and Tandoori for next year... or vice versa ...

Meet ups sound boring and thats the reason no one makes the effort.

I would suggest to ICR ......

You are giving 15 free rooms this year.... Why not just say ....one free room to be won every fortnight during the 6 months of summer.
You have to visit Zazas or Tandoori Sizler during the summer months to have a chance of winning .
I bet you will see a very large uptake on Meet Ups....

It's a win win for ICR .

I think that everyone is missing something here or not I am not sure.

There are no more "official" ICR meets as they finished last year.

These meet ups are actually arranged by members who have mailed Colette asking or giving her suggestions as to where you/they could meet like minded people from the ICR forums so Colette merely posted the favourite 2 places given by the members (actually I suggested Tandoori merely to try to help out a new venture).

ICR staff do not attend anymore as in we do not arrange anything for you like dancers, games prizes etc like we used to when we arranged it.

This is your own venture, it was made by the members for the members and I was at the Tandoori on the night merely because it is directly below my office and if I am at Zaza's bar it is because it is where I play pool and relax in the evening, Michelle is married to Necmi that works there so she would normally be there.

No one is letting ICR down by not attending dates that are put up, it is the members who asked for a place that they know that other members could note and they may meet.

If anyone would like to have a chat with me or a beer or two or lose a few quid at pool then they can always find me

I attended 2 of these meet up nights last year in Vinces and 1 this at Havan Bar neither were very successful in meeting people.
In a restaurant like Vinces or Tandoori Sizzler people are having their meals at various times through out the evening and to have others trying to make contact with fellow forum members does not feel right.
In the Havan Bar things are more relaxed but identifying members is difficult as it is not a large place and not everyone is a forum member.

We went to the one on the 7 July, only 3 other members turned up ended up going to the scotia bar after our meal and had a drink with cummo.
