Sorry for the delay in starting this but I'm relaxing for a few days first.
Anyway day 1.
Left home at stupid o'clock for the airport. Smooth enough flight with no delays. Landed on time but dalaman airport deserves a special ial place e in hell all its own. 1 and a quarter hours to get out of dalaman. Nightmare passport queues and a long queue at the visa booth though we had our evisaz. Delay at airport was more to do with passport and luggage taking too long. Out to private pick up from icr smooth trip to icmeler and rain and lightning on the way but icmeler itself warm and dry. Stayed around the apartment on Monday after the lo v journey then out to tintin for food. Prices have went up but still excellent value. Chicken chow mein 16 lira pizza 16 bacon sandwich with all the trimmings 13 efes 6. Ba k to apartments and bed early.

Day 4
Caught up at last. It is 14.00 turkish time as I type and the weather has Improved to the usual blast furnace temp of icmeler. Turkish night at the apartment last night was excellent and the food superb. Some of our party have been to the majestic and the entertainment is still on. In relation to prices all I can say is that some items have increased a fair bit, coffee etc but bread milk and stuff is still cheap. Exchange rate today was offered 3.50 at Jimmy asda. More tomorrow

Day 7
Warm warm warm. Weather is what we expect now in icmeler warm and sunny.. Met up with friends we made here on our last visit for a meal at wayside last night. Meal was good but not as big as other places. I had grilled chicken which was lovely and only 20 lira. Exchange yesterday was 3.52. I have heard of 3.54 in the town but not seen it yet if I do I will post. That's our first week over and si far my impression of icmeler has not changed. Yes it's quite with the no entertainment rule but it does make me wonder what long term effects this will have on tourism. More tomorrow

Day 8
Still very warm during the day here temp gauge read 42 in the sun at apartments yesterday. There is a lovely cool breeze most evenings which makes the nights bearable. Our crew split for dinner last night some at Tommy for the set meal some at tinting. I have to say that tinting has been the best value for me so far this holiday. I had the bacon sandwich last night. Imagine a foot long sub with salad and a side of wedges all for 13 lira wife had a large plate of chicken chow mein for 16 lira. Excellent value large servings and no one in your face trying to make you spend more. The new park by the side of tansas is nice. Again seemed quiet down town last night but a few people I know went to the chill out bar and had a very good night. My niece lifted lira from the cash machine last night and got 3.59. Full English around town on average is 7 lira with efes on average 8 lira. In tinting efes is 6 and have heard that florida is doing efes for 5 but not checked that yet. More tomorrow

Day 9
Temp must have been in the 40s yesterday again during the day and last night was 32 downtown at 8pm. Did some gift shopping at the underground market last night and the turkish family that own the first trinket shop as you enter from the Liverpool bar entrance are lovely people very friendly and some lovely gifts in the shop. I stated before that the new square beside tansastlooked nice and from a distance it does but yesterday I walked round it,sadly it is pretty grim up close. The fountains look like they have not been on for a while all dry and dirty lots of broken brickwork as well and the sand in the play area needs attention. Anyhow we ate at alins grill last night. What can I say other than superb meal and excellent value. For 3 of the us the bill for the food was 70 lira. Absolute bargain. My wife and I had half roast chicken and it had all the trimmings and my son had the chicken basket again like ours a massive helping. We all had water due to the heat and son had a chocolate Brownie for desert. One of the best meals we have eaten this trip. Rate yesterday was 3.55. More tomorrow

The view is spectacular. Headed back to apart then downtown again at 2. Temp in square was 39. Had the barbie at the apartment last night good food and good value.. Rate is still climbing got 3.57 at asda but did see it around town as well. More tomorrow

Day 11
Still very warm during the day here. Are at Alins again last night and took friends with us, they loved it. While there the police e came and after a row with the figaro hairdressing guys they shut the hairdressers for 15 days. I have written on another forum about what happened so won't repeat it but sufficient e to say it was an ugly scene for a while. Rate is still 3.57. Lay around the pool most of yesterday so not much to report on. There is a few bars closed until Saturday for breaking the entertainment rules down by the canal. Walked past deja vu last night and the music was loud but no dancing. More tomorrow
