You are not allowed to take dairy products into Turkey. Whether this rule is enforced I do not know

There have been reports of people being stopped on arrival in Turkey and having food products confiscated, so I guess it's a question of whether you want to take the risk. I would have thought cottage cheese would go off quite quickly anyway? You can get various different types of cheese there - not sure about cottage cheese though,as I've never looked.

We do not have Cottage cheese in Icmeler or Marmaris sorry and I know that Dairy products such as soft cheese have been removed from people luggage on arrival into Turkey. I would not risk bringing such an item into the country

If you're craving cottage cheese while you're there Caroline, you could get some mild feta type cheese and crumble it in ayran - it tastes very much like the liquid in cottage cheese, not sure how "low fat" it is though, but then again, you are on your holidays

Strictly speaking, Pauline - the answer is no. You are not allowed to bring meat or dairy products into Turkey. However, many people do, so it's entirely up to you whether you want to chance it or not. They do seem to be clamping down on this a bit this year though, and there are been reports of more people being stopped at Dalaman and having their luggage searched and items confiscated.
