Hi All, not been on in a while, off to Mexico in May but despite saying we wouldn't the 'Jumanji' drums of Icmeler are calling and we may do 10 days next September. Does anyone know what has / will happen to the Sizzler?

There will be a new restaurant / bar in its place run by its new leasee. We do not know what it will be called yet but we will update you nearer to season with more details.

What a shame, although I don't know the staff as well as some of you do on here, it was one of the better places we ate at last year. Also, Tommy's Bar was one of the best Fajita's I have ever tasted, please tell me that will still be there this year - it was literally a couple of minutes from The Grand Aquarium where we will be staying again this year.

HI Sunseeker

Rest Assured Tommy's will still be there
He is currently doing a bit of a re-furb
His Sunday Dinners are highly recommeded also.
So we will be up to see what changes he has made when we are there in June
Cant Wait :D

Cheers Mupton,

I've heard the Sunday dinners were good but never tried them to be honest - something to consider as my daughter is a very picky eater and she didn't like a lot of the food as it was too 'foreign' for her. I think she was expecting the kind of Doner Kebabs we get in the Uk - I didn't see any like this to be honest - does anyone know if there are any (I think they call it Gyro - definitely did in Crete) ?

Justin

They do the same kebab as the UK does on a big stick but is served in a wrap not a thick flat bread

Please don't take this the wrong way, but the idea of someone finding the food in Turkey "too foreign" made me laugh... :D

Please don't take this the wrong way but People finding the food in Turkey "too foreign" is Strange as you are in a foreign country, but you can find loads of places doing English (British) food you can get McDonalds and Burger King if you like that kind of food.

I know what you are saying but last year she didn't really enjoy the food. It's just her picky nature (typical 15 year old lol). I'm sure she'd just eat chips every day if she had her way.

My wife and I really enjoy trying different food and always like to sample the local dishes but it can get a bit awkward when my daughter just asks for tomato soup and nothing else. She still says it was the best holiday ever but feel she is missing out on wonderful food... I wish I could get her to try things...

Yeah, she tried that but left most of it which was a bit embarrassing (luckily I ate most of the meat after I'd finished my Adana Kebab lol

Best by far for Turkish cuisine at a cheap price is Memed Ocakbasi in Marmaris

Easiest way to describe is...............

Go down the street facing where the Tansas was/new square is, turn left at bottom then right, go over bridge and keep walking for about 300 yards and you will see it ahead of you one the corner facing the new marine shop.

Its not far from the back of the Netsel Marina but that is the easiet way to direct you

Too many to mention and everyone has their own favourites so a can of worms may have just been opened

JT.
Your right with the "Can of Worms".....We've been 6 times and you cannot eat at every cafe and resturant during your stay, as you sometimes eat at the same place twice. There's places you want to try and not get to, but I fancy the Memed Ocakbasi, just to take in the atmosphere around the Marina in the evening.

OK, no problem JT. I suppose most places will do English cuisine though right?

Booked our second holiday to Icmeler last week for June! Absolutely gutted to read this :( We enjoyed many a meal there last year and made some great friends in Hakaan and Levant! Was very much looking forward to revisiting them this year! Best wishes to them both and good luck, anybody know what they are up to this season?
