Hello just a quick one, I was thinking of taking my I pad away with me as I have loads of books on it, and wanted to save on weight, has anybody else done this, and do you think it's a good idea? It is insured. Thanks

Hi Gridders,
You'll find most places have 'Free' wi-fi, so it's up to you, unfortunately I only have an Ipod. :( :(
Enjoy Steve

Just returned and took mine with me to watch films on the plane, no problems. Saw a few people with their iPads about. I had to carry mine with me everywhere as it wouldn't fit in the hotel safe but I was using it most of the time anyway.

I would advise to keep out of the sun as it does give you a message to say the iPad is too hot and needs to cool down

I always take ours, got an Aquapac bag for it so I can use it at the beach without fear of water or sand getting into it. MrsG has her Kindle in an Aquapac and can float in the pool or sea and read her book, luxury!

Cheers for the link Darren! I'd been debating whether or not to take my Kindle, but you've made my mind up!!!! £20 + P&P is a bargain when I think of how much it would cost for books, and how much space/weight they'd take up.

Can you only get them online?

I think Aquapac have an on-line store but if not, you need the Whanganui model, that accommodates Kindle 3 and later (but not Kindle 2, that's a shade to big).

It's available on Amazon but only a market seller, see here.

It's a great case, you can switch it on/off whilst in the bag, takes seconds to insert/remove and all the buttons etc are accessible. On my iPad version, the touchscreen works and sound is fine. I use it in the bath to watch TV :)

I reviewed the iPad version for my site last year, see here.

It's lovely lying on a li-lo in the pool reading your favourite book and flicking cool water on to you every now and then :)

Thanks again Darren, sorry to say though that I was impatient and ordered one from the online shop on your first link  Should have waited shouldn't I ?!?! Could have saved myself a few £££s if I'd checked Amazon, mind you I didn't want to risk not getting the real mccoy so hey ho and all that!

Would be lovely to lie on a lilo reading it - don't suppose it will come with instructions on how to successfully get on one do you? Have to day I admitted defeat trying to get on lilos years ago - and on the rare occasion I do try, it provides hours of laughter for everyone around me and it takes a team of 10 to help me

Had a look at your review and the video on the site, and have to say am impressed - looking forward to getting it in the next few days

Thanks again

If there is an easy way, I've never discovered it

But, on the topic of li-lo's, we bought one of these a few years ago and love it.

It's like a li-lo but only the tube around the rim is inflated. The middle is a mesh hammock. As it's just the ring that blows up, it takes about 10secs to inflate and it folds like those pop up tents, there is a metal ring that keeps it rigid and it folds into a small circle and fits in its own bag. Very light, can be deflated and folded in seconds and, most importantly of all, is EASY to get into and out of!

Every time we use it someone asks us where they can get them!

looks fab! can't say my desire to mount a lilo quite warrants £30 though haha
I'll stick to the sausages instead

Glad to hear it. Now, if you haven't already, install TVCatchup (Free App) and you can have a soak in the bath and watch TV on your iPad at the same time :)
