Hi everyone, I've been planning my birthday party for a wee while now. It's my 40th and no-one allowed to buy me presents, all my family and friends are giving me donations which is going to the charity I work for.

But to cut a long story short, I am sitting at my desk (supposed to be working) and I have just been hit with a ton of bricks...I'm going to be 40 in 10 days

I can't believe it (I sound like Victor Meldrue now) but really, I cant believe that I am going to be 40...how did that happen?

Blondie I know how you feel, I absolutely dreaded hitting 40 (long time ago) but I will be 50 next year and its not bothering me. Just think, another 10 years you should be fine

Hehe, on a serious note, a Birthday is just another day out of a long year, just enjoy your day and dont let worries of getting older get to you. On the day I was actually 40 I wondered why I was so anxious about it.

Many happy returns for 10 days time.

I hit 40 a couple of years ago and had a brilliant party. We live opposite a football pitch so we had a party on the pitch complete with bouncy castle, ball pool and marquee. The only downside was poor Mason who was only 18months old got chicken pox the same day  It's a numberis 40, looking forward to my 50th

Hi all
Just thought I'd chime in here, all you youngsters don't know you are alive yet, 2010 I will be 70 and still look forward to life every day, working for the government as an OAP is great, they even pay you lol.
