Icmeler Online Holiday Forum & Reviews - Turkey

We have just booked for our family to return home to Icmeler in May this year, however since our last visits, my wife and I, now have an additional little person to take care of, lol.

Having never taken any notice of what people with toddlers are doing whilst on holiday, nor taking any notice of things like the nappy sale situation out there, I'm after a bit of advice.

Firstly, what are the nappies like in Icmeler, I don't really want to kart a box of nappies all the way over there, if they can be picked up at a reasonable price, and are of a reasonable quality. I assume big Tansas in Marmaris or Migros are the places to buy from.

Secondly, what is the milk in Turkey like? My daughter's current bedtime tipple is whole cows milk. Is the milk out there the same pasturised stuff we get here, or is it that UHT/sterilised stuff? Obviously we can't take this with us, but we may try to introduce her into the taste of UHT gradually over the next couple of months to get her used to it, if that is all thats available.

Thirdly, her other favourite tipple is No sugar Orange Squash. What is that like out there? Is it full of sugar, am I better off taking a bottle of Robinsons with us, and hope it lasts/dosen't explode in the case?

Finally, do most restaurants have high chairs?

As you can probably tell from this post, our previous jaunts to Icmeler, involved Efes, steak, cocktails and using the little wheel on the toilet....

Any help/advice would be gratefully appreciated.

You didnt mention where abouts you were staying but like you already have an idea, most of the milk is UHT, however you can get what they call as fresh milk from the small markets it comes in the plastic bottles like overhere but has a red top.

As for nappies places like tansas and migros but the smaller supermarket at the cross roads in the town of icmeler called DIA may be slighlty cheaper and you will have less of a treck carrying it back.

Orange juice there is a small market called market 69 towards the old village that sells the real RObinsons fruit juice just up from DIA a little bit more expensive than at home but least you know what you are getting and if thats what the littlen likes why not. High chairs are never a problem and if there is a mad rush for them they will always borrow one.

our son was 18 months when we took him to icmeler for his and our first time, he loved it. we bought our nappies from the tansas in icmeler they were fine especially becuase most days ghe had swim nappies on which we took with us. As for milk we bougt some over there but with the temperatures he very raely drank any prefering the apple juice or cherry juice. As for nights out he came every where with us and come ten or eleven oclock he would quite happily climb into his buggy and go to sleep. this may seem late but with the two hour time difference its not too bad.

one other thing your little one will get absolutely spoilt in every resturauant or bar you go into

My Granddaughter came to Icmeler aged 12 months and my daughter had no problems with nappies, swim nappies etc so have fun and enjoy x The only thing they did not account for was bringing the raincover for her buggy as it was beginning of September but heyho it rained

Tansas sell Prima nappies,they are the same as Pampers.
