The morning after?

Postby John_Lane » 26 Aug 2009 12:28

Up till now I've always used Resolve in the mornings to try to counteract the excesses of the night before.

Having come across Barocca on this board I've given it a try and I must say it seems to provide a faster solution in gaining some sort of normality.

Is it the placebeo effect do you think or do they both really work?

Which is your favourite or do you have a different cure?

I'll be doing some scientific comparisons when we hit Icmeler on the 31/08. Woo Hoo!

Hi

I always take milk thislte tablets to counteract the effects of the night before and never have a hangover. Take two before you go out, two when you get in and two in the morning - it works for me.

I usually take Resolve too, have never heard of Barocca but will await your report when you return home before I buy it, going out on 21st September.

The only problem with the Milk Thistle is if you have to take it when you come home - if I've had quite a few drinks then I wouldn't remember to take them

ha ha dotty, the trick is to put them next to a bottle of water or glass of water before you go out and then they are there ready for when you get in lol.

I've heard of barocca but never tried it. might give it a go and see what its like.

1 week on saturday and we will be there, cant wait fed up of the rain and wind here.

I have always found the following sorts me out:-

A large glass of water before going to bed to help the rehydration

When I wake up if I am feeling the effects of the night before a large amount of honey or jam on bread to replace the sugar also a Banana to replace the potassium, finally a glass of full fat coke to sort out the stomach.

Just been and bought some Milk Thistle tablets, will give them a try. They're only £1.99 for 30 in Savers, so if they don't work for me then its not like I've wasted much money.

A large amount of water before sleep (if I'm conscious enough) and for the headbanger the next morning 2 paracetamol taken with 2 ibruprofen and a good dose of Turkish bread and honey.

Outcome of Scientific Reasearch.

I thought I'd start with Barocca and switch to my old standby Resolve if needed.

Resolve not needed. One Barocca each morning (6 days running) and I almost instantly recovered from the night before excesses each and every time!! (and I mean EXCESSES)

It was our last night, last night and we drank pretty much all day and gave up at 03.00. Got up at 08.00, one Barocca later cured and ready to go again.

Being picked up at 18.30 to go home. Booo Hoooo!

What is this barocca you are all talking about? Is it like a 'Andrews Liver Salts' kind of thing? Do you get it in the local pharmacy in Turkey or can you buy it here?

It's actually called Berocca - and it comes in fizzy tablets (like a Steradent tube) which you dissolve in water then drink. It's available here in most chemists and supermarkets
