Well I would say that is down to your, own personal choice. However we normally leave a tip for taxi driver about 10 lira. Cleaner for a 2 week stay 20 lira
Restaurants for a 50 lira meal about 5 lira. There are no hard fast rules, regarding tips. I know different countrys have a rule such as 10% or 20% of the bill. However I know no rule in Turkey. I tip for a great service. No service charge is normal in Icmeler. But I guess my tip would be, go what you feel happy with

Hi Tom.
I agree with Steve as we do roughly the same. What ever you tip them it will be gratefully received as they do work extremely hard. :D

We tend to give a tip in every restaurant we visit. Its our way of saying thank you to them in return.

I think if you read the tour operators manuals in hotels etc they recommend 10%to 15% in restaurants etc, but i was told last year that taxi drivers don't expect a tip.

we always tip in the restaurants and for our transfer man who comes to the airport and gets us
depending on the service and the price of the meal depends on how much we tip
usually between 5-10 TL and for the transfer guy around 15-20 TL

We tend to make it up.....to the next tenner or whatever but we might eat there quite a few times. The cleaners dont have so many chances....weleave them at least a tenner and probably all our extra "stuff". :)

Tipping

Postby AussieEve » 07 Jun 2009 07:53

We always leave the cleaner a tip as they always work very hard, but sometimes if you leave the cash in your room as you leave, we have been told that the Owner/Manager may nip in there quick before the cleaner gets there, so the day before we leave we give it her discreetly so we are sure she will get it! Im not saying they all do it, I just like to make sure.
