What are we allowed to take in hand luggage?

Are we allowed to take electrical items, e.g. hair straighteners, things with plugs etc in our hand luggage? I read the thread about being able to unlock your suitcase with a pen and am now paranoid!!!

i think you can take electrical goods in your hand luggage im sure there was just a thread on it

Hi

This is taken from Heathrow airport website security info Prohibited Items
Scissors Razor blades
Knives with blades of any length Household cutlery
Tweezers Hypodermic needles (unless required for medical reasons)
Tools Catapults/slingshots
Knitting needles Sporting bats
Billiard, snooker or pool cues Darts
Toy or replica guns (metal or plastic)

Thanks for that, just saw on GMTV this morning they were going through what you can and can't take on the plane and they now have a section on their website so if anyone still isn't sure take a look there!

aw yeah saw that on GMTV too this morning
they are so strict on what your allowed to take through now
guess its for our own safety though
