WHAT FACTOR SUN LOTION?

17 Apr 2009 19:36

Hi everyone, this will be our 1st time to Turkey and we're all looking forward to our stay at the Bonjour (me, hubby and couple of 16 year olds). Going on 31st July 09 and wondering what factor sun lotion we will need. Usually go to Spain and I use factor 6, hubby 10 and kids use the p20 stuff.

cheers, Lesley.

I have no idea what Spanish temps are like as i have never been but Turkey will be HOT HOT HOT. I don't burn even though i have natural blonde hair but I start on 15 and work my way down, Hubby is on factor 25 and daughter (aged 7) factor 40 my son who is only 4 was born dark skinned, think he must ne the milkman's ha ha but we still keep him well covered. I have seen thermometers blow up in Turkey so my advice would be err on the side of caution. I am sure you will love it as much as we all do, this will be my 12th visit not to Icmeler but to Turkey  We are going for just less than a month in August and can't wait :D :D

I should take plenty of whatever factor you decide on, it's expensive to buy over there (be careful of fakes in the bazaars and supermarkets). I noticed today the suncreams at Tesco are half price.

hi august very hot ,high factor is needed, shower and re-apply also .careful at around midday, use the sea ,shower ,and shade at regular intervals to cool down ,heat stroke is as bad as sunburn, always take and use a sun hat. i,ve seen cats and dogs wheeled round in pushchairs so the melted tar off the roads did,nt burn there feet . enjoy bill atkinson PS the heat is very nice but respect it,if you don,t, it can spoil your holiday
