It 's been tough for us, took great effort to reach our goal, nevertheless the emphasize.
Carrying out visitors now, from around the world to our town called "paradise"!
Making sure they too get to see the land we ended up loving and calling "home",
Ever so beautiful so welcoming each time around, even if you arrived to Dalaman all alone.
Lord, help us provide our friends with the best during their time in the resort,
Eliminate all the bad upon landing on this soil, and only splash them with joy!
Resting, sun and the sea will only do them good in my town, so may you live long to visit paradise once more!

Sit by the canal

Dog needs his walk

Oh to be in the place we all call home
happy and smiling its streets we do roam
the beautiful scenery and glorious weather too
how lucky we are, people like me and you

a paradise and beauty we all have found
friendliness and smiles are all around
so when you are at home and feeling blue
remember paradise is waiting for YOU

so let's be patient as time grows near
we all will come back to the place we love dear
so keep your memories close to your chest
we all will come back to the place we love best

Arrive at the airport your holiday begins
A couple of jars or even a few gins
your mind starts to wander as we think of our 'home'
of the sun, sea and smell we let our mind roam
before you know it you are in Dalaman
and say to the coach driver - get me there as fast as you can
because you feel Icmeler pulling you ever so near
the place you left last year and shed a few tears.
It's not just the sun or the sea or the sand that stole your heart
it's the people you meet, the friends that you keep - you dont want to part
But the summer is coming and I'm going home
back to the place I love and can finally roam
You see once you have been to Icmeler town
No other place on earth will do or make you so brown
So next time you are in Icmeler please think of me
As I close my eyes and dream of that beautiful sea

we come from far and near.
to a place we love icmeler.
sunny skies sea so blue
freindly people funny too.

days are long lots of fun
days at the beach catching some sun
maybe a trip or a turkish bath
or just close your eyes and have a nap

lunches are lovely so is the beer
time for a rest as evening is near

nighttime falls and it comes alive
music laughter and some wine
all the waiters come and chat
flirt with the ladies have a laugh

were of to the airport
its time to go
weve said our goodbyes
now we must go
were sad in our hearts
but we will be back
icmeler is calling

THE FIRST VIEW

It has come to us all, this feeling of joy.
Much of a sameness, for girl or for boy.

The travel is over, the transfer nearly done.
Behind you the worries, here life has begun.

Feeling ever so jaded, and your niggly for sure.
Over the hill into view, is this wonderful cure.

In this moment of magic, and we all have been here.
Grown men and strong women, have shed that wee tear.

One of the most beutifull sights, in our life to desire.
The azure sea and the islands, are here to admire.

Boats rounding the headland, without any sound
Mountains green and majestic, a backdrop so proud

This bay thats before you, is Gods gift from above.
Here is Icmeler -- Our Home -- The place we all love.

Sitting at my desk and my mind starts to wander
of a far away shore and life over yonder
I remember back to the summer gone by
and think of the journey high in the sky

But I need not worry as July does beckon
Eighteen weeks to go is what I reckon
The summer is coming and I cannot wait
to see old friends I left at the airport gate

To paddle through the warm lovely sea
holding my husbands hand, just him and me
Go with the family for a meal and a drink
When a cheeky wee waiter gives you a wink

Then on to another bar for a drink we all go
With a nice full belly, you just want to walk slow
Along the beach, the sea shimmering in the moonlight
and you think to yourself - this feels so right

Before you know it, your two weeks are almost over
and you know you’ll wait another year to be a midnight roamer
No more will you hear that beautiful shimmering sea
for a whole twelve months - it fills you will glee

Your farewells said and your journey home begins
Your heart is heavy just please don’t hit the gins!
For you’re just a click of a mouse away from people who understand
They are all one of a kind - it’s the ICR brand!

This is one i put on a thread back in 2007

The anticipation of the journey
The spleneder of the flight
The excitment of arriving in Icmeler at night

The town is now awaking
The mosquito man has gone
The cockerel in the village is welcoming the sun

Waking up next morning
without hardly any sleep
Strolling out along the streets
Seeing the people meet and greet

To come back year on year
The reasons are so clear
Were at home in Icmeler
Were not strangers here

The Sun is the brightest, hottest star
It beats down on us from afar
We think it won't hurt us
"It's only Scotland" we say

The Sun has burnt us
and still we say
"It's only Scotland"
But deep down
We curse the Sun away.
....
Until we have healed that is!
But alas it is only Scotland
And our sunny summer is numbered.

There is hope on the horizon
August is near,
Turkey will soon be upon us

Say Hello! to the Sun once more
and remember this poem
Don't burn, wear lots of cream and enjoy
as the days will be numbered!
