I think this is a brilliant idea and going to start one on the 1st August for my holiday in next July. I think I'm going save up £1 coins as I rarely get £2 coins but if I do I'll swap them for £1 coins

Oh and thank you for giving me the idea people

I buy the tins from B+M or Poundstretcher, sometimes you can get 2 for £1.50 and you need a tin opened to open them, so no temptation around

I'm getting really tempted to open our tin as its so heavy, but with 34 days to go I'm scared I'll go and spend the money before we even get to the airport.....will have to wait a couple of weeks yet I think

Was supposed to wait till mid week to open the tin but it was really getting the better of me so opened it tonight. Well pleased with the princely sum of £340.75 - don't know where the odd 5p came from as I don't save them..must have been the OH!!!

Have got the cash all bagged up ready to take to the bank next week, after that its on to Boots to try out all the new perfumes so that I know what I'm going to buy at the airport (don't like to waste precious drinking time trying out perfumes!).

Only 10 days to go and oh ya boy I can't wait to get away from the Great British weather  8)

Just joined the forum as off to Ismeler in 10 days for the first time.

I have been doing this for about 9 years though i used to save £2 at my Nans untill
still died last year so had to find a different way of saving, so bought a tin :)

We only started about 4 months ago with the tin and we are going to open it next Tuesday
2 days before we go, so i can get it changed to notes :)

Well done everyone its amazing to read what everyone has saved
