Cigarettes

Postby geovil » 17 May 2012 01:20

I know this will have been asked loads of times but is it cheaper to buy cigarettes at duty free or at the resort I know it is cheaper to buy shorts at the duty free but unsure of cigarettes.

Thanks

200 is the legal limit you are allowed duty free into Turkey and the UK but they will selll you as many as you want in the UK and however they feel in Turkey

You pays your money and you takes your chance

I always buy my smokes in Dalaman on arrival, arrived at all different times and never seen the shop closed. I get L&M's which seem to me like Lambert & Butler (and I am fussy). Google "duty free into Turkey" it says that you can bring in 200 to Turkey but that you can buy an extra 400 in arrival duty shops. My husband doesn't smoke, I always buy 600 on arrival and have never been asked for "2" pasports at the till - tho' they will if you want to buy more than the per person allowed 1 ltr of alcohol.

L&M's were either £14.50 or £13.50 (can't remember exactly) for 200 at Dalaman last year, didn't look at prices for any other brand.

thank you.

Its a shame there isnt a website for the duty free shop at dalaman airport so we could check prices (well i haven't found one anyway) like there is for our duty free shops over here
