Cigarettes on Plane / Airport

I'm off to Icmeler again on the 23rd of this Month and I want to bring cigarettes back, Usually I just get 400 on the plane but I'm thinking about getting 1000 - 1200.

I was thinking about getting 400 or 600 on the plane there and 600 on the way back, I would do that but then I had the oblication of getting a 1000 pack at the Dalaman airport, but I have heard some bad reviews about them being bad tasted and not tasting 'english'. Could you give me some advice on the thousand pack in dalaman airport please.

Also I've never flown from Manchester before and usually at the midlands airport we always seem to land in the morning with there being no customs there, Could you tell me if you have had customs at Manchester airport in the middle of the night / early morning like 5-6 in the morning.

I bought 400 at gatwick, 400 on the plane and 400 at Dalaman. Packed them in my case and bought 400 at Dalaman coming back. Didn't get stopped and was taking a risk but if you are a smoker its a massive saving. Almost paid for my holiday!! Of course I could give up and have even more holidays but thats smokers logic for you!! - one thing I have never understood is why you are allowed to buy so many when the allowance is only 200.

Yes, it's silly how they sell you 400 on the plane when the limit is 200. Could you tell me how did they taste from dalaman airport?

I bought 400 at Dalaman Airport in June and they tasted fine - lambert and butler.

Happy to say now that I have stopped smoking since July 29th with the help of Champix - prescription only

I've found the cigs at Dalaman fine, I always buy 200/400 on arrival to last through the holiday. This year I bought 600 L&M in resort and put them in my case and then 400 on the plane as I didn't get change to go to Dalaman duty free on my way home due to the ridiclous queues at check in desk!!

I've flown home at various times to Manchester airport and not seen anyone at customs.

I am a non smoker but was getting some tobacco on the way home on the plane and they run out leaving my brother in law not very happy with me.
So dont assume they will have everything.

We got told in Cardiff that they were just selling up the remaining stock in 1000's, and they wouldn't be replaced. Only 200's and 400's.

I purchased B & H at Dalaman in June they were cheaper than L & B & Mayfair. With the exchange rate at the moment I would wait until reaching Dalaman. As previously said not always available on return flight.
