Alcoholic and soft drink prices in bars and restaurants

Postby janeypoos » 07 Jul 2011 21:45

Hi, we're coming out in August and I was just wondering where's the cheapest bar for Efes and soft drinks.

We plan on eating at the Hanedan most of the time as I've heard the food is exceptional but was wondering if the drinks prices will make too much of a dent?

Also I like a little vodka and orange before bed, is it cheaper to buy local votka or bring it with me?

From what I can gather efes is on average 5lr a pint. You can get it in Buffalo bar a quid a pint, doubt you'll find a cheaper bar than that. As for the place you mentioned I can't comment as I've never been there. As for vodka, just be careful as there are a couple of threads on here concerning fake vodka.

Wow adewolves, thanks for that heads up about the vodka, I've just read brightspark91's post about her son and his 2 friends who were unfortunate enough to consume some dodgy vodka, they ended up in hospital and one of them almost died.
I have read other posts on this subject now and I will make sure I take enough vodka with me from Duty Free and if that runs out then I go without!
Thats out a bit of a downer on it for me but I'd rather play safe than sorry.
Thanks again :-)

better to take the vodka with you as alcohol prices in turkey are high due to high government taxes
also the local stuff isnt very nice compared to absolute or smirnoff
hope this helps
the price of soft drinks are about the same price as they are in the uk

Katie I only buy Tesco value vodka at home anyway, lol! :)

I'm used to the Turk votka, that's why I've got next to no enamel left on my teeth :D

My husband is definitely meeting us there now so he can bring some from his bar and I'll probably get some in Duty Free so I'm sure we won't go thirsty
