Hi all , sure this must of been mentioned in the forum somewhere but just checking if anyone knows if its possible to take a few fresh items in your suitcase in a small cool bag ie bacon , ham , butter and cheese ? know you can get it over there but like a few basics . Also can you put a small ice pack in or just wrap food in foil . thanks for any advice :?

Have always taken fresh food there no problem, just dont put in your hand luggage as you are not supposed to take any meat of any kind, not sure about cheese as I always buy it there. BTW- you cannot buy bacon in Icmeler- not as we know it anyway so if you like to cook bacon in the apartment you will need to take it and prepacked is no problem, just make sure you place in the fridge as soon as you arrive. Many restaurant owners have their friends and customers take them it from the UK.

We freeze and take lurpak butter and a block of cheese and put it in the suitcase at the last minute.Never had any problems. Wouldn't risk taking any fresh food that wasnt frozen.

We always take food with us; sausages, veggie sausages, bacon, ham we freeze wrap in carrier bags and put in the middle of our case at the last minute and things like coffee, tea bags, sugar we put inside shoes and in the case. Things like cereal we take also and pack in the middle of a case so they dont get too squashed. Another tip is to put your suncreams and shampoo etc wrapped up in carrier bags just in case they leak and we never bring any back as we leave for our lovely maid. Hope this is helpful. Di.
