Luggage scales

Just bought a set of luggage scales (with tape measure) in Poundland for, yes you've guessed, £1. They're exactly like the last set I had but have mislaid, and they cost almost £10. So if you need them get yourself down to Poundland, they also have loads of other travel items.

Just bought some travel bottles there. Just measured the liquid held in the bottles but it is 125 ml not 100 ml. Anyone know how strict they are, will I get away with putting 100 ml in the bottles, or is there no chance?

not sure where your flying from but i dont think i would chance it incase you get it taken off you
depends if it is something such as perfume that is expensive
i know that in aberdeen they are strict and make u remove the clear bags with the liquids in them from your hand luggage

Hi Katie

I know I won't have a problem on the way out, I meant in Dalaman on the return flight.

Some of my bottles contain 120 mls but they havent noticed at Dalaman or Bodrum airports.
As long as you put them in the plastic bag there should be no problem.

Its only mineral water so cant see why they would confiscate it.
Some people at last Octobers ICR meet up were going to put gin and tonic in their 100ml bottles.

Thanks Katie and Jay.

I only wanted the bottles to take liquids through Dalaman. Did it last year with 100ml bottles but I can't find them so bought some more not realising they were slightly bigger. I don't go through the scanner as I'm in a wheelchair so I'm just checked by an officer. Last year on the way out I asked him if he wanted to see the liquids and he said 'No it's Ok' so much for security! This year I must remember where I put my bottles otherwise I'll be spending more on travel bottles that on the drink in Dalaman :)

So If they don't notice that the bottles are 25ml bigger it is the equivalent of taking an extra 2½ bottles through (if my maths is right).

Brilliant idea with the gin and tonic :D

when i went through security at antalya a couple of weeks ago i was wearing uggs
everytime i have gone through security in the uk they have made me take them off because they are bulky and i assume you could hide something inside them
but at antalya the security man asked which country i was travelling to and i said scotland
and he said aw ok scotland doesnt bother about shoes you dont need to take them off
weird i thought

He didn't do his job very well as security, perhaps he should be 'booted' out of the airport
