x ray machines and film for cameras

Postby art deuchars » 28 Nov 2010 13:58

i am thinking of taking a film camera to icmeler next year instead of the digital .
The question is , dose the scanners at the airports effect the film or is it ok.
i am sure there are a few photographers out there who can help.
sorry if this is in the wrong bit ,if so can you put it in the correct forum.
cheers Richard :D

mum takes a film camera each year, ( bought her a digital, but she won't use it ) she puts her camera and films in her hand luggage and it's always fine :D

Some of our better photographers might have more info for you though :D

if it is new film as in there is nothing on it yet then it will be fine.

If it has images on the film that have not yet been processed then it may do it damage.

Any film used in resorts should be processed there and then the negatives will be safe.

I have often taken a film camera as I think they give far better results and have never had a problem with my films even with images on. I was slightly aware it could perhaps happen but never has for me and have carried them very many times, too many to count.
