Combining baggage on Aegean

Postby Tink » 26 Jul 2010 13:54

Can anyone tell me if they have tried combining baggage on their Aegean flight. I am just trying to find ways to cut down my luggage to get to 15k (I know the 15kilo business has been discussed on this site and there are people who can get by but i'm not one of them - I'm usually a 14 outfits girl and like to come back with a suitcase full of unworn items!!!) and if I can get four peoples luggage into two holdalls I will be saving the weight of the other two bags - will they let me do this?

Not had a problem combining luggage for the last two years, family of 4, 80KG spread across 3 suitcases, this year it will be 60Kg across 2 holdalls due to the reduction in luggage allowance a saving of 7KG compared to our old suitcases.

Also I have only been the one in the past taking a rucksack for the flight (Cameras etc), this year my wife and two daughters will be doing the same full of clothes upto the 5KG limit so another 15KG obtained so hopefully we won't have to reduce the amount of stuff three women in my house need to pack, I'll stick with my normal 5Kg of allowance.

Thanks Dave that's exactly what I needed - I'm thinking the same way - old suitcases weigh 5kg each not taking them now so there's 10kg made up and everyone taking hand luggage when, like you, we usually only take one so there's another 15kg - if I keep going I won't need to pair down on packing at all lol. Have to make it up some way to make room for the shopping I will just have to bring home!
