Maintained again this week - this is a record for me, I have been maintaining since April 3rd, usually I maintain a couple of weeks and it goes straight back on.

After the holiday its easy to gain a 1lb or 2lb, but just focus on the next holiday folks. Good luck for next week.

Maybe as another aid for us Icmeler slimmers we should enter our weight! We have started a weekly weigh in, in work, and it has sure stopped me having an extra sweet or biscuit! Just a thought - but let me know how you feel about it - I know giving a weight can be a bit personal.

am up for that mary i have two parties at the weekend and my sons birthdays tommorow so am bad for the rest of the week but first thing monday i will get weighed and put down what i am ha that will frighten me to death :lol:

I have been dieting for the last 5 weeks. It has been salad almost every day. Given up looking at the scales now as I haven't lost anything...infact I have put on. My other half on the other hand has lost several pounds. I keep asking him how come when he gets chocolate urges...and gives in to them. Disheartened or what!!! Anyone any suggestions? Unfortunately I can't afford cosmetic surgery! :( :? :cry:

Are you sure you're eating enough? Sometimes when dieting you could be under-eating and this can slow your metabolism down which could result in no weight losses. Best suggestion is to just eat 3 healthy meals a day and try to avoid snacking in between. If you do feel the urge to snack try just having fruit or veg as a snack.

Thanks for the advise. Still disheartened though as I have been having 3 healthy meals a day and stopped snacking ages ago when we gave up smoking (so as that we could go to Icmeler this year) and I didn't want to put on weight, and have not even had cakes, biscuits or sweets for months now. I think the best thing I can do is to throw away the scales...crash, bang, clatter!! :(

What are your portion sizes like ? Do you excercise ?

One thing I have found on my diet is that the odd treat actually speeds back up your metabolism, 5 weeks of salads and it would have gone into a lull and slowed down. Plus eat speed foods like Melon and Blueberries etc

Thanks Mary, Phill and Colette for the advice. I seem to be doing most things right, but I will step up my excersising and see if that helps any. Oh well, we have another 10 weeks before we go to paradise, so maybe a miracle will happen. Thanks again folks :(

Another tip is to drink plenty of water, at least 8 glasses, this does seem to help. I also try to have some protein at each meal, this too is good to speed up the metabolism.

Well done once again on your losses or sorry if you have had a little gain like my daughter Sam who was quite upset tonight after getting weighed she put 4.5 :( on but she has had a sociable 4 days wedding sat then stayed at friends for 3 days but as she said goes on so easy she dreads going away for 2 weeks she says but she has done well, I lost 1.5 so pleased with that last weigh in next week then off to paradise a week fri cant wait
good luck for next week would love to lose at least another half stone but dont think i will o well never no

Also I was told only one carb per meal, so if your having a portion of potato's don't have bread or pasta etc

you can post what your eating if you want for us to look over see if we can help ?
