Hah! Crazy :) you all do what my family do!
I've got one which says "Lose a lb, gain a £" on it. I started it when I started slimming world and would put as many £'s as I lost in lbs in it each week, plus any £2 coins that I got.
It's not being opened until the summer, so should hopefully have lost enough weight by then to have a significant amount to spend on a couple of new outfits!!

It is about a third full already and Megan who is 7 has just had her birthday 4th January and said she wanted to save £20 of her Birthday money so she put that in the pot too   Anyone got any tips (apart from smashing it) how to retrieve said £20 from a very narrow bottle neck :D

We use a gallon Whisky bottle for our savings, when the wife put a £10 note in as she wanted some change I used chopsticks to get the note out, one chopstick in each hand while the wife held the bottle upside down.

We emptied ours last week to bank the savings (To get what little interest we can), we started saving beginning of October and banked £182, there was about £25 more but we couldn't make up the bags to the right sums. Will empty it again end of March.

our first tin is nearly full so we bought 2 more from the 99p shop ( cheeky buxxers charged me £1 each )

Anyway the first tin is nearly full and it must have at least £60 in it.
Thats our ICR transfers nearly paid for !!!!
Only 2 more tins to fill and we are happy :D

Icmeler 2009 we cant wait :)

I bought a jar from Debenhams in the sale. It counts the money for you as you put it in. Was only 3 quid.

Bargain! So do you always know what's in it then Steve?
I'm really impatient and always like to know, but sometimes I quite like the surprise of opening these tins and guessing what's in them! On the other hand I completely hate it though, haha!

Yes it's a plastic jar, a decent size. On the top it has a little screen tells you your balance, it also has a withdraw feature so you can take money out and reduce the balance. When you put a coin in it tells you what coin it is then adds it to the balance. I think they also sell them in Home bargains.

If its a decent sized tin it must hold a few hundred.

Had a lovely surprise today.

We opened our tin where we save our £2 coins, and we had £508 towards our spending money for Icmeler.........well chuffed with that. Thats us been saving every £2 we got since last September.

Already started again today as we had a £2 coin in our change at Wilkinsons when I bought the Calypso sun tan lotion, so the new tin has already got company.

We are exactly the same, every coin must go in, we are not allowed to spend it. I thought I might have had about £250, but I was gob-smacked when we counted it, soon mounts up.

I thought ours was nearly full to the top, but when we opened it today there was still about 2 inches of space - I wonder how much it would have held when full.
