Half a pound loss this week. My analysis - not bad but could do better. I'm aiming for half a stone by Christmas, but have so many functions to go to, any tips on how to survive them without putting on weight?

I think tortoises have the right idea - hibernate
I could sleep until May and wake up and be lovely and think for Icmeler.

What a great idea Mary! Do you think we would still get paid while we hibernate though?

Good luck to everyone weighing this week.

I have been good so far, but having a girly night tonight, so I will try and not drink too much vodka. I am taking my own supper with me, which fits in with my Slimming World plan, so fingers crossed that I get no cravings for something I shouldn't eat

This is a nice recipe that I have used last week and I thought I would share with you all, its really nice and filling. I used half the recipe and had it for 2 days as Phill wont eat anything like this.

Ham Risotto.
Ingredients.

1 onion
340g/12oz lean ham
113g/4oz Parmesan cheese
Fry Light
255g/9oz Arborio rice
852ml/1½pt chicken stock made with Bovril
2 tsp mixed herbs
198g/7oz frozen peas
397g/14oz canned sweetcorn
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Finely chopped fresh parsley

1. Prepare the ingredients: peel and finely chop the onion, dice the ham and finely grate the cheese.

2. Spray a pan with Fry Light and cook the onion and rice for 5-6 minutes. Add a ladleful of stock and the mixed herbs and stir until the liquid has been absorbed. Continue to cook in this manner, adding a ladleful of stock each time the liquid has been absorbed.

3. Add the peas, sweetcorn and ham and continue to cook until the rice is creamy but still retains a slight bite. Remove from the heat, season well, sprinkle with the grated cheese, garnish with parsley and serve.

Serves 4
Syns per serving are free on Green but add 12 Syns (3 per serving) if not using ham as a Healthy Extra ‘b’ choice and Parmesan as a Healthy Extra ‘a’ choice

Preparation and cooking time:
20 minutes

Enjoy.

Hi Linda The slimming world diet is the easiest I have ever seen, you can eat so much food you would never believe you were dieting.Have a go and see what you think.I will always try to help.

Hi Sandra

If you go to the slimming world website they give you a free weeks diet plan. The magazine is very good as well :D

I lost 3 stone on this a few years ago. Unfortunatley been really bad and put most of it back on

I was going to start again, but I have just been made redundant and dieting is the last thing on my mind at the moment.

I think its a great diet. I prefer what they call green days as I love pasta

Trish, those vodka syns creep up, I went to my Daughters last night to dye her hair. I had breakfast and dinner before I went down and I took some mackerel for supper. Well between laughing and drinking vodka we were ready for bed and I had not even had supper, so hopefully that will compensate for some of the alcohol.

Better luck for next week, but well done on maintaining for this week.

2lb loss for me this week. Very pleased with that.

Sheila, I also do the Slimming World diet, I love the freedom of eating so much and you are always full up. Do you do the mix 2 match days?.......I find them great.

Well done to all those who lost this week (and to Gene who didn't put on!) With Christmas parties coming up and meals out, its going to get tough. I'm on the weight watchers diet, counting points, which can be a bit of a bummer, when you get towards the end of the day, and realise you fancy something but dont have any points left :? Easier to go to bed
