Postby goodlookinbill » 04 Apr 2010 10:55

hi every one. i have a problem some one might help me with. first of all i look a bit like stone cold Steve Austin or he looks like me ha ha. but each year after a week or so my head peels and i look like a leper sorry spelling may be wrong. how can i stop this i start with factor 50 and work me way down. also use plenty of after sun. what doesn't help is i have to shave my head every couple of days

we saw a sun tan specialist in lanzarote 2 years ago because my daughter looked sun burnt and i was using a 50 was told that anything over 30 is made up of a lot of water and oil which attracts the sun more to your skin my daughter looked like she had a rash, i bought a cream for her factor 20 and she was loads better using it then used it last year for her and she never got burnt at all.

I would suggest using a really rich moisturiser as an aftersun on your head - I use Nivea extra rich moisturising lotion for dry skin instead of aftersun and never peel, it takes a while to absorb completely into your skin propery so might have a very shiney head for a while :D other than that I generally find a body butter from the Body Shop (the cocoa butter isn't too highly scented) is rich enough or perhaps a thick E45 cream if you're fussy about smellies.... and slap loads of it on!

The only time I have ever used a branded "proper" after sun lotion was the year I went all scaley and peeled like mad.
All you need is a decent moisturiser and naturl yoghurt or aloe vera lotion to take the sting out of sunburn :D

Hope there is no problems naming products on this forum, but you cannot go wrong with tne Scandinavian product called P20. Once a day application in any heat will never fail on your bounce. Even if your in pool/sea.
Boots, superdrug sells it.

Hi you need to look for the stars on the sun tan cream. That indicates what quality of uv protection. Look for ones which say ultra with five stars people get confused and just go for the highest factor, there was a survey and asda own brand came out tops,I would try a childs sun tan lotion. Other thing is I know it's not good for you but go on a sunbed for a few times before you go to get a base coat on you

Hi

Like a couple of the others have said I would definitely recommend P20 - I discovered it a couple of years ago and wouldn't use anything else now. The aftersun is also fantastic and you can get some very good deals on both if you buy online......
